Jesus said: "I have come to proclaim the establishment of the Father’s kingdom. And this kingdom shall include the worshipping souls of Jew and gentile, rich and poor, free and bond, for my Father is no respecter of persons; his love and his mercy are over all." 137:8.6
188:5.10 When thinking men and women look upon Jesus as he offers up his life on the cross, they will hardly again permit themselves to complain at even the severest hardships of life, much less at petty harassments and their many purely fictitious grievances. His life was so glorious and his death so triumphant that we are all enticed to a willingness to share both. There is true drawing power in the whole bestowal of Michael, from the days of his youth to this overwhelming spectacle of his death on the cross....
And with this in my mind no obstacles in my life's journey to freedom and truth seeking. Peace and Love
131:1.6 (1443.2)“The man who knows God looks upon all men as equal; they are his brethren. Those who are selfish, those who ignore their brothers in the flesh, have only weariness as their reward. Those who love their fellows and who have pure hearts shall see God. God never forgets sincerity. He will guide the honest of heart into the truth, for God is truth.
Godspeed.
144:8.4 "Verily, verily, I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen a greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is but small in the kingdom of heaven is greater because he has been born of the spirit and knows that he has become a son of God."
Peace and Love Family.
Godspeed.
In The Urantia Book, Jesus directed a blind man to wash in the Pool of Siloam to cure him, not because it was a miracle, but as an act of encouragement and a lesson for his followers to value all healing methods, not just those considered supernatural. The pool served as a "semisacred place" where the man, who believed in its efficacy, washed away the mud with which Jesus had anointed his eyes, then returned with his sight restored.
Godspeed family.
In The Urantia Book, physical fasting is viewed as a practice of the old order and is not part of the new gospel, as it can be dangerous and lead to a loss of desire for food and spiritual focus. However, spiritual fasting, when done with a pure heart, can be a temporary and justified practice for those who have lost their spiritual teacher to seek God's guidance and grow in righteousness. It should not be a showy ritual, but rather a secret, loving exchange between the individual and God to deepen spiritual connection, not to gain spiritual gifts.
Nothing that I will say should be construed as a disagreement. When I share something intimate like silent fasting I would want to get feedback. It is not silent anymore anyway.
I have fasted for health reasons to regain a improved balance of my metabolism. As a side-effect I noticed that after a day or so I gained some mental clarity. I also found that it was vital to drink pure water, because when fasting your body mobilizes stored fat and initiates autophagy. This releases toxins that were stored in fat tissue. Pure water helps flush these metabolic waste products through your kidneys without adding contaminants. Your kidneys will thank you. The body is an electrochemical instrument and it will keep on working even when you do no eat.
I can not say that I grew in righteousness, but I certainly achieved a level of calmness and receptivity, because I set time aside for my fasting.
Since every body has a different metabolism no advice on the length of a fast should be given I always looked at it as an experiment.
The God of my understanding does not want me to suffer, nor do my Spirit Parents love me any better than they love any other of their sheer infinite amount of children. As you correctly observed, you can engage in fasting in the hope to become more open for spirit contact, as God is infinitely patient and waits for us to open to His guidance. Towards Light and Life, Oliver
In The Urantia Book, repentance involves the realization of truth followed by a determined, sincere commitment to choose the greater path, leading to personal consecration and a plan to change behavior. It's not just about feeling sorry for past wrongdoings, but a proactive process of acknowledging error, expressing regret, and actively reforming one's actions to align with a higher spiritual standard.
How beautiful this is.....
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ.....support me in this campaign of sending back my kids to school.
For we give not because we have much but, because we know what it means not to have.
Thank you and Godspeed.
To become acquainted with one’s brothers and sisters, to know their problems and to learn to love them, is the supreme experience of living. 130:2.6
How beautiful this is.
I [Jesus] do not promise to deliver you from the waters of adversity, but I do promise
to go with you through
all of them.159:3.13
And add, brother, from which world religion at the time this comes from, please. Truth comes from many streams of consci9usness, doesn't it?
