Forgiveness is the law of God: hate the sin, love the sinner.

138:8:2 (1545.3) Jesus taught them to preach the forgiveness of sin through faith in God without penance or sacrifice, and that the Father in heaven loves all his children with the same eternal love.

146:2.4 The Father in heaven has forgiven you even before you have thought to ask him, but such forgiveness is not available in your personal religious experience until such a time as you forgive your fellow men. God’s forgiveness in fact is not conditioned upon your forgiving your fellows, but in experience it is exactly so conditioned. And this fact of the synchrony of divine and human forgiveness was thus recognized and linked together in the prayer which Jesus taught the apostles. (The Our Father prayer)

        159:1.1. The lesson on Forgiveness

170:2:23 (1861.5) Regarding sin, he taught that God has forgiven; that we make such forgiveness personally available by the act of forgiving our fellows. When you forgive your brother in the flesh, you thereby create the capacity in your own soul for the reception of the reality of God’s forgiveness of your own misdeeds.

170:3.4 (1862.1) 1. God’s forgiveness is made actually available and is personally experienced by man just in so far as he forgives his fellows.

170:3.5 (1862.2) 2. Man will not truly forgive his fellows unless he loves them as himself.

139:2.5,Peter never grew weary of contemplating Jesus’ forbearance. He never forgot the lesson about forgiving the wrongdoer, not only seven times but seventy times and seven

AND so on. Look up Forgiveness in the searth bar for more! important to know: that it is equally important to forgive others as it is to ask for forgiveness of others and of our Father.
