Why do you think God sometimes makes us wait before he answers our prayers?

John 5:5-9 Talky and his friend Thinky were talking to some of the other wayees. They were talking about how long the man lay next to the pool of Bethesda. He trusted that God would answer his prayers. Find some friends and talk together about this. Have any of you ever had to along time before your prayers were answered? God always knows what is best for us. Why do you think God sometimes makes us wait before he answers our prayers?

This is a great question as most people think if they are "good" prayers we are asking, why isn't our Father answering them right now? Well, just as any GOOD father here knows, when a small child asks for something impractical to him or her at that age, like a new/big bicycle, an electronic device, or some other inappropriate item, the Father delays the request and gives something more fitting, better suited to what the child can truly appreciate and use, given his or her skill-level.

Just as with our Heavenly Father, who sees all and knows all, always knows what's best for us at each moment of our life. Look at what effective praying requires:

To qualify as a potent prayer by sincerely and courageously facing the problems of your daily challenges...

...to honestly exhausted the human capacity for human adjustment. You must have been industrious...

...to surrender every wish of mind and every craving of soul to the transforming embrace of spiritual growth...have experienced an enhancement of meanings and an elevation of values...

...to make a wholehearted choice of the divine will....

...to not only recognize the Father’s will and choose to do it, but you have effected an unqualified consecration, and a dynamic dedication, to the actual doing of the Father’s ...

...and your prayer will be directed exclusively for divine wisdom to solve the specific human problems encountered in the Paradise ascension—the attainment of divine perfection.

...Finally, you must have faith—living faith.

It is ALWAYS a question of how you will be benefitted spiritually. And don't forget his promise: that once you have dedicated your lives to doing the will of the Father,  ALL your true needs will be met...WOW!!!!

Much love and appreciation for the question here.

Plus, forget not: the idea of praying is NOT to change God's mind, but to change ours! To continue seeking his will for us in each situation thereby changing our mind, to becoming more like him!
