Before answering the Question
Question 1 is: What is the first thing you need to do now to express your gratitude to God for his forgiveness?
Forgiveness comes as the only way to rub a sad face on our neighbors whether relatives or not.
Before one can kneel in God's presence and ask pardon,i feel i should first go back and reconcile with one i have hurt, also in silence meditate upon good things in comparison with the bad ones i have offered.
As the UB clearly shows how we already have been forgiven before trembling towards HIS forgiveness, personal refinement comes first.
I submit myself to him wholy, thank him and increase my trust in him as I dedicate myself to do his will
Lovely answer and deeply felt response, Enoth.
The book tells us God has forgiven you before you even ask. But you don’t feel that forgiveness until you forgive others.
“The Father in heaven has forgiven you even before you have thought to ask him, but such forgiveness is not available in your personal religious experience until such a time as you forgive your fellow men. God’s forgiveness in fact is not conditioned upon your forgiving your fellows, but in experience it is exactly so conditioned.” P. 1638
“And when you love your brother (or sister), you have already forgiven him.” P. 1898
Wonderful question, indeed.
Forgiveness is one that does clear the bad. However before you ask God to forgive you, he has already forgiven you, but the one who admits and asks God for forgiveness is granted forgiven. This is well quotated paper P. 1638.
Blessings,
Julius!
Wonderful realizations Owen that provide for life altering spiritual growth. Once applied to our relationships it provides the path to love even as Jesus loved his fellows.
