First, the definition of a "revelation":

1. a surprising and previously unknown fact, especially one that is made known in a dramatic way.

2. the divine or supernatural disclosure to humans of something relating to human existence or the world

Let's introduce that into our minds and into the minds of others...as they only view it as the last Book in the Bible, right?

Add to it, that the UB is an EPOCHAL Revelation. What does "epoch" mean, first ?

1. a period of time in history or a person's life, typically one marked by notable events or particular characteristics.

2. the beginning of a distinctive period in the history of someone or something.

And the meaning of "epochal":- forming or characterizing an epoch; epoch-making.

So! The UB is a distinctive period in the life of humans where divine and supernatural sources are disclosing something related to our existence...make sense now?

When you look at the Titles of the Papers and see who wrote them, you KNOW it was no one here on this planet! BUT! You know what? ONLY people with FAITH, gifted to us by the Father AND accepted by each person, will permit themselves to receive this Revelation of God to man. 

The Bible is a book written in 2 parts,  the Old Testament, basically a history of the relationship the Jews had with the God of their understanding, and the New Testament, the 4 gospels plus letters where 3/4 of this half was written by Paul,was also written by all men, humans. 

And in all 4 gospels, the life of Jesus is presented in 28 days. His life and exact words which are of spiritual importance to us here, are for EVERY year of his life in the UB...for the truth seeker who wishes to know about our Beloved Elder Brother, this is the one to choose!

And while there is MUCH good in the  Bible, there are also some misunderstandings of the Father and his Infinite love for each of us. But for Jesus-lovers, the Bible describes 28 days in the life of Jesus,whereas the UB covers his WHOLE life from his birth, actual day and year, right through his childhood, his young teens, his young adult life when he shouldered the family responsibilities after the death of his father,Joseph, at 14 years old, on to his adult life and even portraying the 19 post-resurrection appearances until he ascended on high. 

It then becomes the choice of what an individual wishes to read and learn!

What is the difference between revelation in the UB and revelation in the Bible

^101:4.3 Truth is always a revelation: autorevelation when it emerges as a result of the work of the indwelling Adjuster; epochal revelation when it is presented by the function of some other celestial agency, group, or personality.

The difference is that the Bible is composed of autorevelations, and dim memories of previous Epochal Revelations written by spiritual leaders of the past ages from the old order who were inspired in each passing generation with a greater revelation of the loving nature and character of God through autorevelation and what they could remember or had accurately recorded in scripture writings of the previous Epochal Revelations.

While the 5th Epochal Urantia Revelation for the first time in human history was actually authored by Divine Sons of God who came to this world to upstep the evolutionary religions on the world with Revelatory Religion. (Epochal Revelation) Epochal Revelatory religion is always in response to the prayers of the world's citizens for guidance from God.

The difference between autorevelation and epochal revelation is the wisdom experience of millions upon millions of years of life these older eternal beings Divine Sons of God (our older brothers and sisters) have  acquired in a far flung Universe under the Direction of the Will of the Father of  Love and Creator of All.

Each succeeding Epochal Revelation always clarifies the truth and knowledge contained in all previous Epochal Revelations. So much is written about these four previous Epochal Revelations in the Urantia Papers. Including the life and teachings (gospel) of Jesus as he presented them to this world.

There was a transition from the autorevelations coming to us from the Prophets of the Old Order to the proclamations of the sons and daughters of God at the time of Christ when the Prophets of Old made an end of their utterances with John the Baptist being the last of the long era's and ages of proclamations about God using only the presence of the Father's Spirit in man and the assistance of the Hosts of Heaven as the source of their inspirations, writings and declarations along with dim memories of previous Epochal Revelations.

In other words besides the 5 Epochal Revelations starting 500,000 years ago with the bestowal of the Planetary Prince who betrayed this world, (Every Son of God has free will) The arrival of Adam and Eve 37,000 years ago who fell into default through the iniquitous work of Satan, then the emergency arrival of Machiventa Melchizedek 1,973 years before Christ to prepare the way for our Creator to be born as Jesus. Then in 7BC the Birth of Jesus. Finally between the years 1911 and 1955 the world received the 5th Epochal revelation of God when many Divine Sons came to this world to uplift the races made possible by the presence now of the Spirit of Truth working with the Spirit of the Father in the minds of our citizens.

Jesus who was the 4th Epochal Revelation prophesied the coming of the 5th Epochal Revelation when he declared. (in red text)

  ^176:2.3 In further answer to Peter's question, Jesus said: "Why do you still look for the Son of Man to sit upon the throne of David and expect that the material dreams of the Jews will be fulfilled? Have I not told you all these years that my kingdom is not of this world? The things which you now look down upon are coming to an end, but this will be a new beginning out of which the gospel of the kingdom will go to all the world and this salvation will spread to all peoples. And when the kingdom shall have come to its full fruition, be assured that the Father in heaven will not fail to visit you with an enlarged revelation of truth and an enhanced demonstration of righteousness, even as he has already bestowed upon this world him who became the prince of darkness , and then Adam, who was followed by Melchizedek, and in these days, the Son of Man. And so will my Father continue to manifest his mercy and show forth his love, even to this dark and evil world. So also will I, after my Father has invested me with all power and authority, continue to follow your fortunes and to guide in the affairs of the kingdom by the presence of my spirit, who shall shortly be poured out upon all flesh. Even though I shall thus be present with you in spirit, I also promise that I will sometime return to this world, where I have lived this life in the flesh and achieved the experience of simultaneously revealing God to man and leading man to God. Very soon must I leave you and take up the work the Father has intrusted to my hands, but be of good courage, for I will sometime return. In the meantime, my Spirit of the Truth of a universe shall comfort and guide you.

The Spirit of Truth (The final spirit attribute that makes the way clear) had not yet been poured out upon all flesh until after the ascension of Jesus to the Father. Jesus made the declaration of this change in the powers of autorevelation with the assistance of periodic Epochal Revelation in this discourse to the apostles of both John and Jesus. 

^144:8.4 "Verily, verily, I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen a greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is but small in the kingdom of heaven is greater because he has been born of the spirit and knows that he has become a son of God."

This knowing of sonship with God was made possible by the personal presence of Jesus while here in the flesh and the Spirit of Truth that was poured out on all flesh after he ascended to the Father. There has always been a way to the Father but that way was made plain by the life and the teachings of Jesus. And now does the world have his teachings as he presented them to this world.
