This is the answer I had put on Quora. I "found" the Urantia Book on our honeymoon, husband having carried it around like an old shoe, referring to it from time to time(thinking he was saying "cucaracha" ?!), on one of our bookshelves upon returning home.

We sat down and when I read the first sentence: "In the minds of the mortals of Urantia - that being the name of your world - ..." I asked myself : WHO is writing this who is NOT part of my world??! Then I opened it to the Table of Contents, a 50+ page read in itself. Interesting, "out-there" authors, but when I got to the 4th and last Part, A Restatement of the Life and Teachings of Jesus, I got really interested. I had been conscious of actively seeking, finding and following my hero, Jesus, all my life, through the Catholic Church, which didn't do anything for me other than introducing me to a Charismatic group, where we were allowed to OPEN the Bible. Imagine!

Well, after devouring and studying the New Testament, I discovered I wanted MORE of the RED sentences (His words in red). I thought to myself: He HAD to have said more. I want to know! Realizing that this had actually become a prayer which was answered 2 years later.

So! I started with Part 4 since the way I heard it repeated in churches, what we knew about our Creator was that he was born, 12 yrs old in the temple, then roamed around for 3 yrs teaching some, and then was killed. I needed spaces filled in!

Thus began my falling in love with Jesus in a way I had never known before. Tears flowed as the beauty of His character was developing from a young age and at His supernal mastery of teaching, laughter at how the never-before-heard-of authors predicted what the human mind would question in reading a statement, and immediately following up with the response! Comfort in having the thoughts of a much younger me being confirmed, questions I never thought to ask, answers I never thought would come.

The whole book is pretty mind-bending...many become frustrated, are tested to question their long-held beliefs (e.g. will their certificate to heaven be revoked if they entertain new/different thoughts), do not like being admonished by beings MILLENIA older, or is simply not the right timing. For me, it was absolutely the ideal time in my life...

People gravitate to different parts of the book. For me, the first 3 parts just confirmed that we in our world, universe, etc, are in PERFECT hands and the management thereof is unerringly so. I don't feel redrawn to read it. However! I can't tell you how many times I have read the life of Jesus. And each time, I learn something new, swear it wasn't there before...enjoy that it actually means I'm really moving forward in my journey.

The book in my study of it confirms that it is all true, BUT not the whole truth! "They" leave out parts for us to discover on our own.

        Consider these thoughts:

        a) if we do not taste/do/read/see, etc something...are we really qualified to adjudge it? (Is it not frustrating to hear a child say: I don't like that. And you know they haven't even tasted it)

        b) accepting someone else's opinion on something we have not experienced...see above.

        c) the truth NEVER suffers from HONEST examination.

        d) Christ/Jesus (whatever name works for you) followers need to understand that we are ALL on the SAME side. We look and sound different since that's the way the Creator made us! Because fighting amongst God-knowers is reprehensible and inexcusable in the eyes of our Father.

“The hour is striking for presenting to Buddhism, to Christianity, to Hinduism, even to the peoples of all faiths, not the gospel about Jesus, but the living, spiritual reality of the gospel of Jesus.”

Said Jesus: “The gospel of the kingdom must be proclaimed to all the world, to gentile as well as to Jew.”
