Mysteries of Dance
To dance is to embrace movement with grace. The layers of stiffness, self consciousness, and unwelcome thoughts evaporate as movements open doors to lightness of being, physical abandonment and a deep inner presence.
In each case an inner shift occurs moving my consciousness from a dense state of mind toward a less dense state. Whether solo dancing in a group, or pounding the tavern floor with friends, or swaying my hips while alone in the kitchen dicing onions, I’m left with a memorable degree of satisfaction.
In this age of mindfulness to ones actions and emotions, I think it is reasonable to ponder the mystery of transitioning from self absorption to degrees of freedom.
So what are the mysteries of Dance for you?
- Is our society so structured that denser states of mind are considered normal
- Have we moved from a time when our ancestors were guided by a lighter state
- Are we moved to dance by an inner need to be free of normal dense states
- Can dance hold us in the present
- In our daily life, does a lightness of being move us into universal rhythms

Celebrating Sustainability of the Human Spirit:
I’ve had a long life desire to share inspirational thoughts and theories on the workings of the universe and our part in it. I am comfortable in one on one conversations and have had some success with writing.
In the spirit of setting forth new avenues of expression for 2019, I am starting a weekly post on FB, in emails and other forums, where I invite others, like yourself, to participate by sharing your unique perspective on the topic. We will cover, everything from walking meditations, to rewriting the meaning of relationships, non judgement, the art of appreciation, living behind your breath and 47 more. I hope to hold your interest throughout the year. This weeks topic is:
Allowing Inspiration and Creativity to occur:
With the use of the word ‘allowing’ it suggest that creativity comes from a place of origin as though it already exists waiting for someone to call it forth. Do you find that simple, like opening a valve just to let it flow in? How would you describe you understanding based you successes or lack of?
Here are some ideas to consider:
- where does inspiration/creativity come from?
- is inspiration or creativity the same?
- do they come from the same source?
- do they already exist?
- how does inspiration/creativity enrich humanity?
- how do you bring it forth?
- how does it feel to be inspired?
- what prevents inspiration/creativity?
