Through Christ Jesus take every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5)!!!

In speaking of our spiritual warfare, Paul says that we take every thought captive and subject all thinking to Christ Jesus. Here are the apostle’s words: “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5).

The primary point in this section of 2 Corinthians is that we are in a spiritual warfare. What leads up to the statement that we take every thought captive is important. In verse 3 Paul states that though we walk in the flesh we do not war after the flesh. That is, we do not rely on human ingenuity or manmade plans to bring the victory. The flesh is powerless against the wiles of the devil. In verse 4 Paul mentions the “strongholds” or the “fortresses” that are destroyed by God’s power. These strongholds are the philosophies, arguments, and “proud opinions” mentioned in verse 5.

Without question, there are many human thoughts that need to be taken captive. Numerous ungodly philosophies hold people in bondage, and those spiritual “fortresses” need to be demolished. The systems of thought that war against us are “arrogant obstacles” (NET), “lofty opinions” (ESV), and “sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing” (AMP) that prevent people from knowing God. In our day, these systems of human thought include the theory of evolution, secular humanism, existentialism, the cults, the occult, and false religions. How many people are held captive by the idea that they are the products of chance in a godless universe? How many spiritual prisoners labor under the requirements of Allah and await freedom in Christ? We must take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).

False religion and secular philosophy have created thinking that has imprisoned the minds of millions. It is a true spiritual battle: “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (2 Corinthians 4:4). Any idea, opinion, or worldview that asserts that Christ is unnecessary is reflective of the devil’s pride. Such thoughts must be taken captive and made obedient to Christ. Those who know the truth must confront error with the weapon we’ve been given, the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17).

Our weapons in the spiritual battle are not carnal but mighty through God. As we are transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2), we engage the battle against pretense and arrogant philosophy in the world. Trusting Christ and rightly dividing the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15), we take every thought captive, pull down the strongholds, and, by the grace of God, set the captives free.

23Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.
23Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
24Put away from you a deceitful mouth,
And put perverse lips far from you.
24Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

        THE DEATH -SURVIVAL CONCEPT

The concept of a supermaterial phase of mortal personality was born of the unconscious and purely accidental association of the occurrences of everyday life plus the ghost dream.
The simulationeous dreaming about a departed chief by several members of his tribe seemed to constitute convincing evidence that the old chief had really returned in some form. It was all very real to the savage who would awaken from such dreams reeking with sweat, trembling, and screaming.

          THE DAWN OF CIVILIZATION

This is the beginning of the narrative of the long, long forward struggle of the human species from a status that was little better than an animal existence, through the intervening ages ,and down to the later times when a real ,though imperfect, civilization had evolved among the higher races of mankind.

Civilization is a racial acquirement, it is not biologically inherent, hence must all children be reared in an environment of culture, while each succeeding generation of youth must receive anew it's education.
The superior qualities of civilization -scientific, philosophic, and religious -are not transmitted from one generation to another by direct inheritance. These cultural achievement are preserved only by the enlightened conservation of social inheritance
Social evolution of the CO- operative order was initiated by the Dalmatia teachers, and for three hundred thousand years mankind was nurtured in the idea of group activities .
The blue man most of all profited by these early social recent times the yellow race and the white race have presented the most advanced social development on Urantia

              THE TRIUMPH OF LOVE

Whatever the difficulties evolutionary mortals may encounter in their efforts to understand the Lucifer rebellion, it should be clear to all reflective thinkers that the technique of dealing with the rebels is a vindication of divine love. The loving mercy extended to the rebels does seem to have involved many innocent beings in trials and tribulations, but all these distraught personalities may securely depend upon the all -wise judges to adjudicate their destinies in mercy as well as justice.

Thank you for posting this important information Emmanuel, I have met in my lifetime many who have stumbled because of this misunderstanding of the vindication of divine love. Our revelators' attempt to bring this important matter to our attention in several ways.

The first is the necessity of challenges in the development of a robust and dynamic character that has the capacity to have a implicit and whole-souled belief in the certain triumph of righteousness. To understand this we must hold and maintain the long distance view.

Our revelations make this astounding remark about Amadon the modified human associate of Van where his capacity for trustworthiness expanded the understanding of even the Universes oldest children of God.

In understanding this we must also understand this declaration about confiding trust, one of the fruits of the spirit.

28:6.13 4. The Solemnity of Trust. Trust is the crucial test of will creatures. Trustworthiness is the true measure of self-mastery, character. These seconaphim accomplish a double purpose in the economy of the superuniverses: They portray to all will creatures the sense of the obligation, sacredness, and solemnity of trust. At the same time they unerringly reflect to the governing authorities the exact trustworthiness of any candidate for confidence or trust.

67:3.8 Amadon is the outstanding human hero of the Lucifer rebellion. This male descendant of Andon and Fonta was one of the one hundred who contributed life plasm to the Prince's staff, and ever since that event he had been attached to Van as his associate and human assistant. Amadon elected to stand with his chief throughout the long and trying struggle. And it was an inspiring sight to behold this child of the evolutionary races standing unmoved by the sophistries of Daligastia while throughout the seven-year struggle he and his loyal associates resisted with unyielding fortitude all of the deceptive teachings of the brilliant Caligastia.

67:3.9 Caligastia, with a maximum of intelligence and a vast experience in universe affairs, went astray -- embraced sin. Amadon, with a minimum of intelligence and utterly devoid of universe experience, remained steadfast in the service of the universe and in loyalty to his associate. Van utilized both mind and spirit in a magnificent and effective combination of intellectual determination and spiritual insight, thereby achieving an experiential level of personality realization of the highest attainable order. Mind and spirit, when fully united, are potential for the creation of superhuman values, even morontia realities.

67:8.3 From Edentia up through Salvington and even on to Uversa, for seven long years the first inquiry of all subordinate celestial life regarding the Satania rebellion, ever and always, was: "What of Amadon of Urantia, does he still stand unmoved?"

Jesus spoke of this attribute of human character tempered with the power of spiritual perfection potentials when he declared this future testing of his followers.

143:1.7 "Today, the unbelievers may taunt you with preaching a gospel of nonresistance and with living lives of nonviolence, but you are the first volunteers of a long line of sincere believers in the gospel of this kingdom who will astonish all mankind by their heroic devotion to these teachings. No armies of the world have ever displayed more courage and bravery than will be portrayed by you and your loyal successors who shall go forth to all the world proclaiming the good news -- the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of men. The courage of the flesh is the lowest form of bravery. Mind bravery is a higher type of human courage, but the highest and supreme is uncompromising loyalty to the enlightened convictions of profound spiritual realities. And such courage constitutes the heroism of the God-knowing man. And you are all God-knowing men; you are in very truth the personal associates of the Son of Man."

To understand this following declaration we must comprehend the capacity of Amadon for eternal services in the Universes of the Father of Love.

67:8.4 If the Lucifer rebellion has handicapped the local system and its fallen worlds, if the loss of this Son and his misled associates has temporarily hampered the progress of the constellation of Norlatiadek, then weigh the effect of the far-flung presentation of the inspiring performance of this one child of nature and his determined band of 143 comrades in standing steadfast for the higher concepts of universe management and administration in the face of such tremendous and adverse pressure exerted by his disloyal superiors. And let me assure you, this has already done more good in the universe of Nebadon and the superuniverse of Orvonton than can ever be outweighed by the sum total of all the evil and sorrow of the Lucifer rebellion.

If the revelation outreach team in Africa can enlist the services of 144 men and women endowed with the trustworthiness and courage of Amadon and his staff, then all of Africa will become one majestic power able to restore the gospel of Jesus as he presented it to the citizens of the world now found in the 5th epochal revelation papers.

In so doing this truth in our revelation will become realised. Africa is already leading the way back to Jesus.

149:2.1 Jesus understood the minds of men. He knew what was in the heart of man, and had his teachings been left as he presented them, the only commentary being the inspired interpretation afforded by his earth life, all nations and all religions of the world would speedily have embraced the gospel of the kingdom. The well-meant efforts of Jesus' early followers to restate his teachings so as to make them the more acceptable to certain nations, races, and religions, only resulted in making such teachings the less acceptable to all other nations, races, and religions.

                THE THREE PERSONS OF DEITY

Notwithstanding there is only Deity, there are three positive and divine personalization of Deity. Regarding the endowment of man with the divine Adjusters, the Father said :"Let us make mortal man in our own image. "Repeatedly throughout the urantian writings there occurs this reference to the acts and doings of plural Deity, clearly showing recognition of the existence and working of the three source and centers.

A New Covenant and a New Body

Dearly beloved of God, three groups of people are mentioned in I Corinthians 10:32: the Jews, the Gentiles, and the Church of God.

The first group mentioned is the Jews. God made a covenant with the Jews [Judeans] that He would be there God, and they would be His people. He gave them the covenant of the law until the seed should come, who was Christ.

If that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for the second covenant. The new covenant is found in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and in Hebrews 8.

                  Hebrews 8:8-13
8 For finding fault with them He said, “Behold the days come, saith the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

That which is old, decays and vanishes away. Christ took away the first covenant [the Law,] so that he may establish the second [the covenant of the spirit].

Jesus Christ came to accomplish the will of God. He is the mediator of the new covenant we are told in Hebrews 9:15, and 12:24. A mediator mediates between two parties. The two parties are God and the house of Israel. [See also: Galatians 3:20; I Timothy 2:5 and 6].

In the new covenant, Jesus Christ was the High Priest of good things to come. By his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for Israel. He gave his blood as the blood of the covenant.

In the new covenant, he consecrated a new and living way through the veil that separated the Holy of Holies from the Holy Place. He provided access to enter through the veil into the presence of God for the house of Israel and Judah.

This man, Jesus Christ, after he offered one sacrifice for sins, forever sat down on the right hand of God. By one offering he perfected forever them that he sanctified.

God said that He would put His laws in their hearts, and write them in in their minds; and their sins and iniquities will He remember no more.

How did those out of the Gentiles enter the new covenant?

                  Romans 9:23 and 24
23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of [ek: out of] the Jews only, but also of ek: out of] the Gentiles?

God formed a new group of people out of those who were formerly Jews, and formerly Gentiles. In Christ, He formed the Church of God.

II Corinthians 3:2-6 speaks of the new covenant. The new covenant was not written with ink, but with the spirit of the Living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart. This covenant was not of the letter, but of the spirit. The old covenant killed; but the spirit given in the new covenant gives life.

The old covenant made all men guilty before God, but Jesus Christ justified us, and delivered us from the reign of death dealing sin.

                  Romans 8:1-4
There is therefore now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, for the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus made us free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do [it could not give spirit life,] in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.

Romans 10:4-13 tells us that Christ was the end of the law [the old covenant] for righteousness to everyone that believes regarding him. “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

The Church is the body of Christ formed from those out of the Judeans, and from those out of the Gentiles that confessed Jesus as Lord, and believed that God raised him from the dead. The members of this body are saved by the grace of God toward us in Christ Jesus, not by our works.

In Christ, we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace, which He abounded to us. We received the gift of holy spirit, and we are sealed with it unto the day of redemption. We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus on the basis of his accomplishments.

In Christ there is no longer any distinction between the Judeans and the Gentiles; God made one body out of the two in Christ Jesus, and by his accomplishments. Through him we both have access by one spirit unto the Father. We are no longer strangers and foreigners from the commonwealth of Israel, we are fellowcitizens, and of the household of God.

God revealed the revelation concerning the administration of the grace of God, which is also called the administration of the mystery, to the Apostle Paul.

The members of the Church are the body of Christ and all the members are filled with all things that Christ accomplished. We are completely filled in him; it is all in all. The Gentiles that believed regarding Christ are fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers with the Judeans of the promise in Christ by the gospel.

God called us in Christ, He justified us, and He glorified us. He freely gave us all things with His Son. God called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus. He called us to His kingdom and glory.

Rejoice, dearly beloved of God, we entered the new covenant, and we are saved the moment we confessed Jesus as Lord, and we believed that God raised him from the dead. In the new birth, and we are members of the Church, which is the body of Christ.
