157:2.1 On Monday, August 8, while Jesus and the twelve apostles were encamped in Magadan Park, near Bethsaida-Julias, more than one hundred believers, the evangelists, the women’s corps, and others interested in the establishment of the kingdom, came over from Capernaum for a conference. And many of the Pharisees, learning that Jesus was here, came also. By this time some of the Sadducees were united with the Pharisees in their effort to entrap Jesus. Before going into the closed conference with the believers, Jesus held a public meeting at which the Pharisees were present, and they heckled the Master and otherwise sought to disturb the assembly. Said the leader of the disturbers: “Teacher, we would like you to give us a sign of your authority to teach, and then, when the same shall come to pass, all men will know that you have been sent by God.” And Jesus answered them: “When it is evening, you say it will be fair weather, for the heaven is red; in the morning it will be foul weather, for the heaven is red and lowering. When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say showers will come; when the wind blows from the south, you say scorching heat will come. How is it that you so well know how to discern the face of the heavens but are so utterly unable to discern the signs of the times? To those who would know the truth, already has a sign been given; but to an evil-minded and hypocritical generation no sign shall be given.”

Bad Weather

Freezing rain, we’re on the cusp.

33°, the rain’s robust.

Gray skies rule the here and now.

A rainy winter day somehow.

It’s a warmer winter day

For rain to come and then to stay.

In winter generally we get snow.

That’s just the way our cold wind blows.

For us to get midwinter rain

Means warmer temps are not so strange.

A warmer winter seems to be.

The outcome’s something we will see.

Wet and slippery, icy roads

Inhibit travel from abodes.

But still, there’s traffic, people go.

Accept the risk of slippery flows.

More accidents in icy weather.

People slide into each other.

Taking risks out on the road

Can lead to problems being towed.

We need to be prepared for slides.

Going slow as we do ride

Helps to minimize our risk.

We cannot go too far adrift.

Thank You, Father, keep us safe.

Help us prepare, strengthen our Faith.

Help us see with Spirit eyes

The Truth before us as it flies.

123:5.1 Jesus was now seven years old, the age when Jewish children were supposed to begin their formal education in the synagogue schools. Accordingly, in August of this year he entered upon his eventful school life at Nazareth. Already this lad was a fluent reader, writer, and speaker of two languages, Aramaic and Greek. He was now to acquaint himself with the task of learning to read, write, and speak the Hebrew language. And he was truly eager for the new school life which was ahead of him.

Snow Days

Warmer temps, but still we freeze.

The temps below 30°.

But 20 something’s not at zero.

Warmer air lasts through tomorrow.

Normal Winter, in degrees.

And now there’s snow up to our knees.

The dead of Winter’s what we face.

But Spring will come, do not lose Faith.

For now, a Winter Day we have.

Winter sleet can be a drag.

A foggy sleet hangs in the air.

Winter weather we do bear.

There’s nowhere that I have to go.

I can sit here, away from snow.

But every day I need to grow.

I need explore all things I know.

Improve myself in some one-way.

We all go different ways today.

You’ll see the task, if you just look.

Decide right now to read His book.

Not the only thing to do

But reading truly will ensue.

Reading truly helps fulfill.

And dreams and lessons are instilled.

SIMON ZELOTES ASKED QUESTION JESUS HOW TO PERSUADE PEOPLE FOR THEIR SALVATION

When Simon Zelotes and Jesus were alone, Simon asked the Master:

“Why is it that I could not persuade him?

Why did he so resist me and so readily lend an ear to you?”

Jesus answered:

“Simon, Simon, how many times have I instructed you to refrain from all efforts to take something out of the hearts of those who seek salvation?

How often have I told you to labor only to put something into these hungry souls?

Lead men into the kingdom, and the great and living truths of the kingdom will presently drive out all serious errors.

'When you have presented to mortal man the good news that God is his Father, you can the easier persuade him that he is in reality a son of God.'

And having done that, you have brought the light of salvation to the one who sits in darkness.

Simon, when the Son of Man came first to you, did he come denouncing Moses and the prophets and proclaiming a new and better way of life?

I came not to take away that which you had from your forefathers but to show you the perfected vision of that which your fathers saw only in part.

Go then, Simon, teaching and preaching the kingdom, and when you have a man safely and securely within the kingdom, then is the time, when such a one shall come to you with inquiries, to impart instruction having to do with the progressive advancement of the soul within the divine kingdom.”

SELF-MASTERY THROUGH SALVATION TEACHES BY JESUS

“Salvation is by the regeneration of the spirit and not by the self-righteous deeds of the flesh.

You are justified by faith and fellowshipped by grace, not by fear and the self-denial of the flesh, albeit the Father’s children who have been born of the spirit are ever and always masters of the self and all that pertains to the desires of the flesh.

When you know that you are saved by faith, you have real peace with God.

And all who follow in the way of this heavenly peace are destined to be sanctified to the eternal service of the ever-advancing sons of the eternal God.

Henceforth, it is not a duty but rather your exalted privilege to cleanse yourselves from all evils of mind and body while you seek for perfection in the love of God."

“Your sonship is grounded in faith, and you are to remain unmoved by fear.

Your joy is born of trust in the divine word, and you shall not therefore be led to doubt the reality of the Father’s love and mercy.

It is the very goodness of God that leads men into true and genuine repentance.

Your secret of the mastery of self is bound up with your faith in the indwelling spirit, which ever works by love.

Even this saving faith you have not of yourselves; it also is the gift of God.

And if you are the children of this living faith,

you are no longer the bond slaves of self but rather the triumphant masters of yourselves, the liberated sons of God."

167:2.2 “A certain ruler gave a great supper, and having bidden many guests, he dispatched his servants at suppertime to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ And they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a farm, and I must needs go to prove it; I pray you have me excused.’ Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I must go to receive them; I pray you have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have just married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ So the servants went back and reported this to their master. Ways&Byways

No snow, but clouds will rule the day.

Tomorrow sun will have its way.

Cold though in the single digits.

It’s wintertime and it’s just physics.

Every day the things we do

Requires a choice based on what’s true.

We must decide and then must choose

How we work to pay our dues.

How we do things in this world

Reflects how well we’ve taught our souls.

When we follow what’s inside

With It we are identified!

God is what exists within.

Let God guide and you will win.

It takes time to learn new skills—

To truly find and do His will.

But as you gain this attitude

New skills erupt, you do exude

An aroma that uplifts.

On God’s path there are many gifts.

To become what can’t be done

Is not the mission of God’s son.

God will never ask you to

Do something that is untrue.

Thank You, Father, precious Life.

I cling to it though I’m getting ripe.

Soon the years will break this form.

I’m going to hear then, Gabriel’s horn.

110:6.4 When the development of the intellectual nature proceeds faster than that of the spiritual, such a situation renders communication with the Thought Adjuster both difficult and dangerous. Likewise, overspiritual development tends to produce a fanatical and perverted interpretation of the spirit leadings of the divine indweller. Lack of spiritual capacity makes it very difficult to transmit to such a material intellect the spiritual truths resident in the higher superconsciousness. It is to the mind of perfect poise, housed in a body of clean habits, stabilized neural energies, and balanced chemical function – when the physical, mental, and spiritual powers are in triune harmony of development – that a maximum of light and truth can be imparted with a minimum of temporal danger or risk to the real welfare of such a being. By such a balanced growth does man ascend the circles of planetary progression one by one, from the seventh to the first.

Morning Light

The morning comes in increments.

Clouds and snow are dominant.

But slowly morning light does come

With blowing snow before it’s done.

With morning light, we see some beauty.

It snowed last night, the dusting’s pretty.

Twill only last an hour or two.

The wind disturbs the morning hue.

Beauty comes and beauty goes.

Does it reflect time as it flows?

It reflects the hand of God!

God makes beauty, it evolves.

He’s an artist with His brush.

He paints real pictures with snow dust.

He’s mastered beauty to our eyes.

He puts the blue up in the sky.

Anytime you take to look

One can see His hands at work.

Beauty is in the beholder.

It excites and fills with wonder.

Take the time to look inside.

Excitement comes, you do decide

To follow what you find in there.

God knows you well, and He’s aware.

Thank You, Father, deep inside.

You know exactly how I’ve tried.

I do share my life with You.

You’re with me in all things I do.

76:5.6 The supermaterial government of Urantia, under the direction of the Melchizedeks, continued, but direct physical contact with the evolutionary races had been severed. From the distant days of the arrival of the corporeal staff of the Planetary Prince, down through the times of Van and Amadon to the arrival of Adam and Eve, physical representatives of the universe government had been stationed on the planet. But with the Adamic default this regime, extending over a period of more than four hundred and fifty thousand years, came to an end. Direction

Continues cold, it’s wintertime.

Inside my home, I write my rhymes.

I love to write, and then express

The thoughts that fill me, and give me rest.

I want to be in touch inside.

We’re taught that’s where our God resides.

Joining us in all our ventures.

Get close to Him, don’t be a stranger.

God’s a friend to those who try.

He helps us live, shows how to die.

He assures us we’ll exist.

Death won’t take us off His list.

To live a life based on that Faith,

Will open Heaven and its gates.

Love will guide you to the top.

You’ll see then, things just never stop!

Let Faith be your scaffolding.

Decisions based on Faith will bring

Direction to your lifelong path.

Let Faith be your sails and mast.

Let love control direction’s wheel

And turn towards God, He’s your best deal.

Courageous Faith can help you heal

From anything that’s truly real.

htt81:3.7 The traveling trader and the roving explorer did more to advance historic civilization than all other influences combined. Military conquests, colonization, and missionary enterprises fostered by the later religions were also factors in the spread of culture; but these were all secondary to the trading relations, which were ever accelerated by the rapidly developing arts and sciences of industry.

Advance the World

The cold has come, a -12.

But that’s outside, not where we dwell.

We’re inside, out of the cold.

We’ve learned to keep our temps controlled.

We stay inside where we have built

Structures that do suit our ilk.

They keep the cold away from us.

They truly have become robust!

We talk of building on the moon.

The cost of which I’m sure will zoom!

The know how’s there, I have no doubt.

But do we choose the proper route?

We need to choose how we do use

And make the choice to not abuse

This world on which we all do live.

We need to learn more, how to give.

We need to raise humanity up—

Slowly, as to not disrupt

What we have already built.

We cannot lose what You have willed.

Spiritually we must advance!

Accept what’s true, not blind romance.

Let the Truth be guiding us.

The Spirit within us we must trust.

Thank You, Father, help us see

The world as one – more Spiritually.

More gadgets aren’t the way to peace.

We need more Spiritual expertise.

103:3.4 Remember that in the religion of all ages the experience which is paramount is the feeling regarding moral values and social meanings, not the thinking regarding theologic dogmas or philosophic theories. Religion evolves favorably as the element of magic is replaced by the concept of morals.

Change

Bitter cold is on the way

And it will stay for several days.

Zero and the single digits

Cold is measured by our physics.

To document our current temps

We must have measure instruments.

We’ve invented ways to see

The temp observed comparatively.

We know the temp when water freezes

When it boils, and releases

Vapors into all the air.

Of these temps we are aware.

We divide the temps between

Water in it’s two extremes.

Centigrade divides to 100.

Fahrenheit is a conundrum.

We’ve only had these scales of temp

Since the 1780s, then did we invent

The Fahrenheit scale, so since that time

Temperature records could be in line.

Our temperature records before then

Are not in line with what has been.

We can’t be sure of accuracy

Only temp changes generally.

Thank You, Father, for times invention.

I know it flows by Your intention.

We all exist within its flow.

We live the now, where change is slow.
