Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Living life based on our emotions is like a roller coaster: a terrifying journey on a closed loop. But living by faith, instead of sight, is a stable forward-moving journey. This is what comes of looking at our circumstances through God's eyes.
When we get up every morning we've got to say, "Lord, maybe today. Maybe You are coming back today." Perhaps today we are going to meet Jesus; perhaps today the Lord is going to come back. Walking by faith is living with expectancy. We need to be sure that when the Lord comes again, He will recognise us as His children - not because of what we have done, but because of what we believe.
God, when I start to live by sight, please pull me off the roller coaster and set me back on the track of faith. Amen.
