8./ What is Trinity according to the 5th Epochal Revelation?

According to the Fifth Epochal Revelation (The Urantia Book), the Trinity—specifically the Paradise Trinity—is the eternal, existential union of the three co-ordinate and co-equal personal Deities who constitute the undivided, absolute oneness of Deity at the center of all reality.

This Trinity is described in detail in Paper 10: The Paradise Trinity (and referenced throughout the book, especially in the Foreword and Papers 0–19), as the foundational reality of the eternal universe. Key teachings include:

        • The Paradise Trinity consists of:
          • The Universal Father (First Source and Center) — the primal personality, infinite in love, volition, and personality absoluteness.
          • The Eternal Son (Second Source and Center) — the absolute spiritual expression, wisdom, and revealer of the Father.
          • The Infinite Spirit (Third Source and Center, also called the Conjoint Actor) — the infinite mind, universal manipulator, and co-ordinator of all energies, intellects, and spirits.
        • These three are original, co-ordinate, coexistent, and eternal—there never was a time when any one existed without the others. They are not successive creations; the Trinity is inevitable and without beginning.
        • The Trinity is Deity unity: While the three persons are distinct and individualized personalities, in the Paradise Trinity they function as one absolute, indivisible Deity. This union allows for the full expression of infinite Deity attributes (personality, spirit, mind, power) without contradiction or limitation. It enables the Father to escape the isolation of absolute personality while maintaining infinite oneness.
        • The Paradise Trinity is existential (eternal, unchanging reality) rather than experiential (evolving through time). It provides:
          • Perfect revelation of the eternal nature of Deity.
          • Absolute overcontrol of the grand universe.
          • The basis for all creation, administration, and justice (e.g., Stationary Sons of the Trinity reveal divine justice).
          • The framework for the personalization of Deity in threefold form, allowing infinite potentials to actualize without compromising absoluteness.
        • The Trinity functions uniquely in absolute associations of personal Deity. It is the source of many higher beings (e.g., certain Paradise Sons like Trinity Teacher Sons are direct offspring of the Trinity). Creator Sons (like Michael of Nebadon) originate from the Father-Son union but operate under the overarching sovereignty of the Paradise Trinity.
        • Philosophically, the book states the Trinity is the one inescapable inevitability in all universe affairs—unthinkable for the master universe to exist without it. It reconciles the absolute oneness of Deity with the need for diverse, volitional expression.

This concept differs from traditional Christian Trinitarianism:

        • In the Urantia revelation, the Trinity is not Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit in the incarnational sense. Jesus (Michael of Nebadon) is a Creator Son descended from the Eternal Son (Second Person of the Trinity), not the Eternal Son himself. The Infinite Spirit is the Third Person, not specifically the "Holy Spirit" as post-Pentecost comforter (though related).
        • The Trinity is Paradise-centered and cosmic in scope, not primarily anthropocentric or soteriological.

In essence, the Paradise Trinity is the eternal, absolute foundation of all reality—the unified Deity that makes possible the infinite diversity of creation while preserving perfect oneness. Worship and prayer are directed primarily to the Universal Father (as personality access point), but the Trinity represents the supreme unity of God. The revelation emphasizes that true spiritual experience grasps God as one, with the Trinity as the mechanism for His infinite self-revelation and administration throughout eternity.
