Robert Kirabira is founder of Victorious Children’s Ministry Uganda (VCMU) which he opened in 2009. It was struggling as a child that inspired him to help children who don’t have hope in their life. Robert lost his father at the young age of 9 years and was brought up by his single mother, Joyce who struggled a great deal to provide for her family of five children. He started hard labouring work at the early age of 9 years; carrying water on his head from wells and walking long distances of 2 miles to sell it in his village, worked on people's farms/gardens, crushed rocks to make concrete and made bricks for up to 12 hours a day. This struggle to help his mother to provide basic necessities for the family and an education for himself and younger brothers made his journey difficult but with God he overcame these struggles to become a success and his hearts desire is to help all children in need to become a success in life. The absence of a parent or parents is a difficult path for any child, but with the help of a community their paths can be changed. VCMU helps orphans and vulnerable children from families in Kawanda and surrounding areas.
This is Robert's life’s passion.
With 45 children still on the waiting list for sponsors, we are looking for a few more “someones” to become education sponsors! $20 a month provides tuition, lunch, uniform, and medical care as needed. We use World Remit, a 3rd party secure payment system to transfer funds.

For most of our children at VCMU like Edwin, Calvin and Jordan-life is a continuous struggle. They are dependent on the school nutrition program just to survive. We all know that by educating them, we are giving them a way out of poverty. At VCMU, we feed their minds & body, and through the generosity of their sponsors such as Uncle Helmut, aunt Pretty, and aunt Misty we feed their souls. Earlier this year we began a Blanket Program in celebration of Easter. We choose blankets for a few reasons, some practical and some motivational. First, so that our children would have something to wrap up in and be somewhat comfortable-while sleeping on the bare floor. Secondly, they can wash it and keep it clean for themselves. The third reason is so they would feel covered in love; knowing someone cared enough about them to provide a blanket, as they sleep and dream of a better life. And lastly, we bought the blankets big enough that they can share with a sibling, so they can experience what it is like to be able to give.
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about our current needs, please reach out to us at VCMU. If you are unable to make a commitment to an ongoing donation to become an education sponsor-a onetime donation of $20 buys a child a blanket. We use World Remit, a secure online 3rd party payment system to ensure that your money arrives safely to us in Uganda. Please contact us at victoriouschildrensministries@gmail.com on how you can donate.
