Fundraising With WDF Wilmat Development Foundation
WDF COVID-19 Relief Drive - Be Relief To A Mother
Akua Temeng and 2 others are organizing this fundraiser.
Here at Wilmat Development Foundation, we are doing what we can to help the vulnerable women and children in our care through this crisis. For those in Uganda who have access to technology, we are running a ‘Clean Homes Campaign,’ giving remote classes in cleanliness and hygiene and teaching them about handwashing methods and sanitation. Where we can, we are also helping these women with the means to feed themselves and their children.
It only takes $50 to feed one household for a month. Thanks to your help, we are using the money to purchase essential dry foodstuffs such as rice, salt, cooking oil, and maize flour. We are also providing seeds to grow their food, offering a long-term solution, and empower our women to regain their independence. This means that they don’t have to spend their hard-earned capital on food, which will mean that when business resumes, they will still have an income and can provide for their families once more.
Our aim is to raise $5,000, which will go to our most vulnerable women and children, helping them access food, medicine, and cleaning supplies while the pandemic isolates them. With your help, we will ensure they are not forgotten in this crisis.

As the Corona virus Pandemic continues to spread across the globe, many rural young mothers, Caregivers and children in the communities of Uganda are at a higher risk of being more vulnerable as they are all under lock down with no clear access to various health services and livelihoods among others as before. We can make this a reality by sharing with your network or support this cause. It is never to late to support than silence! Watch with us

STANDING UP FOR THE UNHEARD VOICES AMIDST COVID-19
Amidst the fight to end the widespread of COVID-19 through lockdowns and restrictions of people, the movement has not only led to massive destruction of livelihoods but also affected the attaining of the SDGs by 2030 as most of the resources have been diverted to the struggle. To the dismay, many voices, especially the women and children who have been potential victims of Gender-Based Violence cases in rural and semi-urban communities have remained unheard as the outcry is falling on deaf ears. The creating awareness against gender-based violence against women, children, and men in rural and semi-urban communities aims at combating GBV. Gender-based violence (GBV) is a critical issue that according to the United Nations affects 1 in 3 women. GBV is disproportionately affecting underprivileged women, especially in rural areas and semi-urban communities.
With that said, the general objective of this campaign is to raise awareness about the existence of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in communities as a way to advocate for fair treatment of victims and law action to the perpetrators. The overall goal is that over time the community will experience fewer cases of GBV and awareness will rise against this vise. We will be working in the Mayuge District within a period of 3 months and aim at having 50 direct beneficiaries.
Through educational initiatives, the project will bring awareness about GBV to communities who need it most. In these difficult times, funding is an issue and any donations are appreciated.
