To lift up our communities in food production.
I'm Daniel Mwebembezi, Chairman of the Kamwenge Food Forest Project, located in Kinoni 1, Ganyenda Parish, Kibale Subcounty, Kamwenge District.
Our Project Aims:
For a paradigm shift in food security and community empowerment.
Our Mission:
To promote sustainable food security and environmental conservation in Kamwenge District purposely for the benefit of the orphans, poor people and the needy children in the society
Our Goals:
Enhance food security and nutrition
Support livelihoods and income generation
Empower orphans and vulnerable families
To train 50 local farmers on perm culture and sustainable agriculture practices for the improved and gradual support to the needy people.
Enhance biodiversity and eco system services in the area.
To establish 4-acres food forest with diverse fruit trees and crops.
To provide food and income opportunities for over 200 vulnerable children and households.
We have a thriving nursery bed providing free seeds, seedlings, fertilizers and pesticides to orphans, needy families, and others in the community. Our offerings include cabbages, tomatoes, onions, carrots, Beetroot ,watermelon, Green peppers, pineapples, Eggplants, coffee, cocoa, Beans, maize, Gnuts, cassava, Yams, Iris potatoes, sweet potatoes and more. We're also running a banana micropropagation program, producing disease-free plants to boost family food and income, especially for orphans' education.
Notably, we employ over 15 orphans in our project and support over 35 orphans in education. We're requesting financial support of ($30,000) to expand our impact and continue empowering the community.
