We intend to train women in various sectors like Agriculture - which is the main source of income in Uganda , making soap , carpets and all those small-scale ventures that they can do to earn a living.
On top of equipping them with the knowledge, we wish to provide them with resources to be able to carry this out .
In addition to that , we teach them environmental conservation and how to make use of agricultural wastes and turn them into something useful for example by making of charcoal briquettes.
A briquette is a block of compressed coal dust or peat used as fuel. Briquettes help conserve the environment because they burn longer than charcoal and therefore, we will be reducing the amount of charcoal that households use .
All the products we need for briquette making are food and plant wastes .
By doing this we shall be able to teach others that there are other forms of fuel rather than carry out deforestation which is sadly the main source in Uganda .
The process is very easy and doesn’t need any technicalities , it can be carried out from anywhere by anyone .
This charcoal is durable , better and does not bring any smoke .
We intend to hold capacity building trainings to create awareness and teach people how they can start-up this particular business in hopes of reducing poverty thus promoting economic growth.
Our goal for this project is to empower as many single mothers as possible for them to earn a living and be able to afford their basic necessities.
There’s a-lot of agricultural wastes at our disposal to make enough briquettes on a daily basis .
All the materials and equipment required is economical to fabricate.
