Socialization of Religion
There is a real purpose in the socialization of religion. It is the purpose of group religious activities to dramatize the loyalties of religion; to magnify the lures of truth, beauty, and goodness; to foster the attractions of supreme values; to enhance the service of unselfish fellowship; to glorify the potentials of family life... 99:6.2
Interaction with others
He was always ready and willing to stop a sermon or detain a multitude while he ministered to the needs of a single person, even to a little child. Jesus 171:7.8
Stand strong, be of good cheer
"And when such disheartened souls sincerely seek for God--hunger for truth and thirst for righteousness--there is nothing that can hold them in further captivity. Jesus, 130:1.2
The family is the channel through which the river of culture and knowledge flows from one generation to another. 84:0.2
Actually Eternal
God first loves man and confers upon him the potential of
immortality — eternal reality. And as man loves God, so
does man become eternal in actuality. 117:4.14
Progress
“Civilization can hardly progress when the majority of the youth of any generation devote their interests and energies to the materialistic pursuits of the sensory or outer world.” 111:4.3
Faith
"…faith will expand the mind, ennoble the soul, reinforce the personality, augment the happiness, deepen the spirit perception, and enhance the power to love and be loved." Jesus 159:3.1
The hope of modern Christianity is that it should cease to
sponsor the social systems and industrial policies of
Western civilization while it humbly bows itself before
the cross it so valiantly extols, there to learn anew from
Jesus of Nazareth the greatest truths mortal man can ever
hear -- the living gospel of the fatherhood of God and the
brotherhood of man. 195:10.21
Spiritual Assurance
Spiritual assurance is the equivalent of your personal religious experience in the eternal realities of divine truth and is otherwise equal to your intelligent understanding of truth realities plus your spiritual faith and minus your honest doubts.
Hope Sometimes the planting of a seed necessitates its death, the death of your fondest hopes, before it can be reborn to bear the fruits of new life and new opportunity. 48:6.25
