In this Urantia Book study of Paper 195, After Pentecost, Dr. Roger Paul walks through how the gospel of Jesus met Greek philosophy, Roman power, and pagan ritual, and what was gained and lost along the way. You will hear why Peter founded the Christian church, how Paul carried the message to the Gentiles, and why the Greeks and Romans were ready for a new religion. You will also hear why the early compromises with Mithraism and paganism still shape Christianity today, and how the religion of Jesus turned into a religion about Jesus. Then comes the part many people never hear: the Dark Ages, the rise of secularism, and the warning that materialism and mechanism cannot answer the deepest questions of the human soul. Dr. Paul also covers why a machine can never become human, why science and true religion cannot truly quarrel, and why the world needs a new revelation of the living Jesus. This session closes with the call to be second milers and to seek first the kingdom of God within you.
