Paper 188, The Time of the Tomb, What Really Happened During Jesus's Rest in the Tomb?
The Urantia Book, Paper 188 - The Time of the Tomb, Page 188:0.1 (2012.1) Slides Link: https://fifthepochalrevelationfellowship.com/notes/Paper_188_the_time_of_the_tomb-2.pptx Dr. Roger Paul for an in-depth Urantia Book study session on Paper 188, The Time of the Tomb. This session explores the little-known 36 hour period between the death of Jesus on the cross and his resurrection, beginning with the burial arrangements made by Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus to save the body from the open burial pits of Gehenna. Discover how Pilate granted permission for a proper burial, how Roman soldiers protected the body from an angry mob at Golgotha, and how Jesus was reverently embalmed and placed in Joseph's new tomb. The group then moves into the profound meditation on the meaning of the cross, examining it not as a symbol of appeasement or sacrifice to an angry God, but as the supreme revelation of divine love and voluntary mercy. Hear how the cross stands as an eternal emblem of the triumph of love over hate and truth over evil, and how tens of trillions of evolving beings across the universe look to this moment for inspiration. This teaching invites deep reflection on forgiveness, unselfish service, and the daily struggle to align the human soul with the will of the Father. Whether you are new to The Urantia Book or a longtime student, this session offers fresh insight into the final hours of Michael of Nazareth's bestowal on our world.
