Wilmat Development Foundation presenting on Waste Management in line with Climate Change

Managing solid waste collection aims at improving the cleanliness of the city. It is estimated that the per capita generation of garbage is one kilogram per day. With a population of about 1.5 million, this works out to about 1500 tons. The city councils can only manage to dispose of 40% - 50% of this. About 80% of this garbage is organic matter which makes it very bulky to handle.

Climate change is a global challenge that has no borders and to combat it requires coordinated work by all countries and people. Many people do not know what it really amounts to, either due to unreliable sources or deliberate misinformation, which has led to a series of myths about climate change. In these pages, we tackle the subject from an objective, scientific viewpoint, discussing the causes and consequences of climate change and how it should be tackled.

WILMAT DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION

Matte Jockas -WILMAT DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION is a Non-Profit Organization that was founded in 2014 with the main goal of providing practical education to the underprivileged community people in Uganda. Early 2019, we took on the partnership with Changing Lives-Switzerland as education is the way out of poverty and further improve their living conditions through sustainable development programs by integrating them in the society and helping them to find the best solutions to the entrenched problems affecting them in their respective communities. Our experience is based on the reality that every human being is a unique individual and that we all have a right to good health and basic needs of life and access means to a comfortable life in one way or another.
