101:7.3 Presently new systems of values come into existence; new formulations of principles and standards are achieved; habits and ideals are reshaped; some idea of a personal God is attained, followed by enlarging concepts of relationship thereto.
The Trail
The Holiday has come today.
The sound of fireworks last night played.
Loud booming late last night.
To sleep through that, was quite the fight.

Might as well give in tonight.
Go outside and see the sights.
Smell the fumes left in the air
And talk to all who gather there.

Try to live the here and now.
Fix yourself with good morale.
Then do what you can do the best.
Serve this world, don’t be its guest.

Service one can do for others.
As you serve, you find we’re brothers.
That experience is unmatched.
The plan of God has been unhatched.

I think you probably get my drift,
If through my words you truly sift.
The way ahead where we survive,
Is found inside where God resides.

The God inside Christ did reveal.
Commune inside with your appeals.
Father Communion for a season
Can improve the way we reason.

Thank You, Father, where You reside,
Is a place where I can’t hide.
I must honestly look in,
And, see myself, and where I’ve been.

Poetry in Motion

Poetry in Motion

Only a poet can discern poetry in the commonplace prose of routine existence.
