This momentous occasion marks a pivotal moment in the life and mission of Jesus, as he calls his apostles to become ambassadors of the Father’s kingdom. On Sunday, January 12, A.D. 27, Jesus gathers his twelve apostles on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

With the anticipation of a sacred ceremony, the apostles are called away from their daily routines of fishing and mending nets. This solemn gathering is not just a formality but a heartfelt consecration, preparing them for the great mission ahead. Jesus speaks to the twelve, offering preliminary instruction that highlights the essence of the new kingdom that is to be established in the hearts of humanity. This kingdom, unlike any earthly dominion, is characterized by its everlasting nature and its foundation in the divine will of the Father.

It is a kingdom where love reigns supreme, transcending all barriers of Jew and gentile, east and west. Jesus emphasizes that the power of this kingdom does not lie in military might or material wealth but in the glory of the divine spirit. This spirit will teach minds and rule hearts, transforming individuals into reborn citizens of the heavenly kingdom, the sons of God.

The kingdom's battle cry is a call for peace on earth and goodwill to all men, embodying the highest aspirations of good men throughout the ages and fulfilling the prophecies of the wise.
