Establishing the Remembrance Supper 

Urantia Book Paper 179, Section 5

 

UB 179:5.1, "As they brought Jesus the third cup of wine, the “cup of blessing,” he arose from the couch and, taking the cup in his hands, blessed it, saying: “Take this cup, all of you, and drink of it. This shall be the cup of my remembrance. This is the cup of the blessing of a new dispensation of grace and truth. This shall be to you the emblem of the bestowal and ministry of the divine Spirit of Truth. And I will not again drink this cup with you until I drink in new form with you in the Father’s eternal kingdom.”" 

 

UB 179:5.3, "When they had finished drinking this new cup of remembrance, the Master took up the bread and, after giving thanks, broke it in pieces and, directing them to pass it around, said: “Take this bread of remembrance and eat it. I have told you that I am the bread of life. And this bread of life is the united life of the Father and the Son in one gift. The word of the Father, as revealed in the Son, is indeed the bread of life.” When they had partaken of the bread of remembrance, the symbol of the living word of truth incarnated in the likeness of mortal flesh, they all sat down."

Together, they unpack the roots of Africa’s dependence on food imports and the global trade structures that sustain it. Raj traces how colonialism and capitalism created an unequal food trade system — one where debt, structural adjustment, and international financial institutions like the IMF, World Bank, and WTO shaped African economies around export crops and dependency. Drawing from history, he explains how food aid, trade agreements, and corporate power continue to reproduce colonial patterns, while local production remains undermined.

The discussion dives into neocolonial control through finance, the lingering influence of USAID and global aid systems, and how policies designed in Washington and Geneva dictate Africa’s food future. Raj highlights the resilience of African farmers, the dangers of the Green Revolution, and the ongoing misuse of the language of “food sovereignty” by powerful institutions. He explained how agroecology, territorial markets, and public procurement systems can restore autonomy — emphasizing that real food sovereignty is about power, equality, and democratic control over food systems, not just production.

In his closing reflections, Raj calls on Africa’s youth to join the fight for justice, engage in collective activism, and reclaim the continent’s food future from neocolonial trade regimes.

Our heavenly Father is absolutely, infinitely perfect. He has already created perfect beings in the celestial realms who have freewill and cannot sin. At the same time, in the very same heavenly realms and here in the earthly realms, he created celestial and terrestrial beings who have freewill and can sin. 

 

This allows for all kinds of diverse experiences to occur. New creations, new meanings, values, treasures, beauty, lessons, etc, are realized as a result. Those who can sin are not left helpless. They are given all the tools they need in order to evolve, to climb up to become perfect, even as the glorious heavenly Father himself is perfect. 

 

There are reasons for all these in line with a mind-boggling eternal divine plan and purpose, way, way, way beyond our present abilities to fully comprehend. But please check this out: We can begin to understand it little by little. Hallelujah! Peace be upon you and stupendous tidings of great joy!
