A COSMIC BRIEFING
We are the first generation of human beings to glimpse the full sweep of cosmic history, from the universe’s origin to the silent, stately flight of galaxies through the intergalactic night. Humankind continues its own journey into the future with a new depth of understanding and appreciation for the forces that shape our destiny.
This Cosmic research briefing format is intended to provide updating and information to teachers, leaders, program managers and policy makers on the opportunities for spiritual scientific advances in a frontier field. The field of Spiritual Cosmology is an exciting frontier where astronomy, nuclear physics, and astrophysics meet with Spiritual and Mindal energy systems, and where we may be able to discover how the universe came to be as itis today.
What Is Cosmology?
Cosmologists work to understand how the universe came into being, why it looks as it does now, and what the future holds. They make astronomical observations that probe billions of years into the past, to the edge of the knowable universe. They seek the bases of scientific understanding, using the tools of modern physics, and fashion theories that provide unified and testable models of the evolution of the universe from its creation to the present, and into the future.  Spiritual Scientists work from the tools of experience investigating the Reality of Our Own Personal Experience.
What's All the Excitement About?
These are some of the current research frontiers that challenge and excite cosmologists. The main body of this report discusses current work on these issues in more depth. But before that, it describes some of the key questions that Social Scientists are trying to answer, such as “The Crisis of Civilisation” within the Human Epic.  These give a broader perspective on the long-range goals of cosmology research.
The Cosmic Questions
Spanning enormous ranges of time, space, radiation wavelength, matter density, and temperature, cosmology research as well as Spiritual research (like most science) must be subdivided in order to match the scales of human activity and instrumentation. Individual researchers may work in a relatively small area of the subject, yet each has in sight a set of large questions that his or her results might address. It is the need to find answers to questions like the ones contained within these briefings that motivates the Spiritual Cosmologist.

Just  as a Food Critic looks for Truth, Beauty, and Goodness in the food he loves, so with the Spiritual Detective on the Religious Quest & Each Religion.

Our theme is Truth.   Happiness ensues from the recognition of truth because it can be acted out; it can be lived. The unerring response of the ever-present Spirit of Truth.

An Interregnum is: -  ‘The crisis consists precisely in the fact that THE OLD IS DYING …and THE NEW CANNOT  BE BORN;  in this  interregnum between where we are ....and where we need to get to in order to create a world that works for everyone.

“the mass of humanity lead lives of quiet desperation …and go to the grave with their song still in them."  This could also be the definition of Anomie.

When a social system is in a state of Anomie; (or - Anomic)
 common values and common meanings are no longer understood or accepted, …and new values and meanings have not yet developed. Such a society produces, in many of its members, psychological states characterized by a sense of futility, lack of purpose, depression, anxiety, emotional emptiness and despair. For so many Striving is considered useless, because there is no accepted definition of what is desirable.  We all know someone who fits this description…. Don’t we?  

All each of us needs to do is ask ourselves “WHAT IS MY PURPOSE?  

195:5.12.As you view the world, remember that the black patches of evil which you see are shown against a white background of ultimate good. You do not view merely white patches of good which show up miserably against a black background of evil.
195:5.13.When there is so much good truth to publish and proclaim, why should men dwell so much upon the evil in the world just because it appears to be a fact? The beauties of the spiritual values of truth are more pleasurable and uplifting than is the phenomenon of evil.

The Urantia Book
The Urantia Book was given to the peoples of our planet, in order that we might learn more of this Cosmic relationship with humanity and our relationship to the universe. This revelation has been given us in the form of a book, one which recapitulates the origin, history and destiny of our world with additional truth illuminating man's place in the universe of universes. We are here in accordance with the Cosmic plan, a plan of infinite scope which involves the perfection of the grand universe, extending to near-infinity, and in which each of us is privileged to play a unique and valuable part. 

Humanity is passing through a great age of expanding horizons and enlarging concepts on our planet, and our cosmic philosophy must accelerate in evolution in order to keep pace with the expansion of the intellectual arena of human thought. Still, with all this belief in the unity of the cosmos, we still perceive the diversity of all existence. And this is what makes us strong.
