I’m writing to you with a humble request and a big prayer in my heart.

My name is Onesmas, and I’m currently living in Kampala, renting a small room where I rest between work. Right now, I don’t own a motorcycle, so I rent one from someone else every day. I pay him $3.50 per day just to use it. Some days I make $2, some days more, and some days nothing at all. After paying for the bike, food, and rent, there is very little left.

Even with this struggle, I have to provide for my mother and my family back home. The house we started building has been on hold for almost 3 years now because I simply don’t have enough to finish it.

Why I need a motorcycle:
A new motorcycle here costs around 6 million UGX, which is about $2,200 USD. If I could own my own bike, I wouldn’t have to pay the daily $3.50 rental fee. That money would go directly to my family’s needs and to saving for my younger sisters’ school fees. Education is my only way to help them have a better future, since I didn’t get much schooling myself.

Every day I pray that one day I can own my own motorcycle. It would change everything for me and my family. I would work harder, save more, and make sure my sisters can stay in school.

If anyone feels led to contribute, no amount is too small. Even $5, $10, or $20 brings me closer to this goal. And if someone would prefer to buy or donate the motorcycle directly instead of sending money, that would also help me greatly. That way, I wouldn’t lose the little I earn each day to rental costs.
