<p>Early Christians did not celebrate the birth of Jesus, they were more concerned with his resurrection, ascension and promised return. December 25th was the myth of the birth of Mithra born to a virgin. When they converted in large numbers to Christianity December 25th became the traditional birth of Jesus.</p>
