Internal/Eternal Spring
In the Spring, one can’t be sure
That current weather will endure.
Sudden change, a storm blows up.
Mother Nature can erupt.

Weather radar helps us all.
It tells when storms might come to call.
It tells when we should take shelter.
Radar reflects the current weather.

God has got more than radar.
He knows exactly where you are.
He knows your heart, helps build your soul.
He knows within you, all your goals.

Belief in Him is the first step.
And then to see what happens next.
You can’t invent an unbelief
But can decide to not believe.

Such a small internal thing.
Do we believe in anything?
How does our belief effect
And change the way in which we act?

Belief affects our attitude.
In our actions, are we rude?
Patience with the souls around us
Helps us all to see God’s justice.

102:3.4 Religious desire is the hunger quest for divine reality. Religious experience is the realization of the consciousness of having found God. And when a human being does find God, there is experienced within the soul of that being such an indescribable restlessness of triumph in discovery that he is impelled to seek loving service-contact with his less illuminated fellows, not to disclose that he has found God, but rather to allow the overflow of the welling-up of eternal goodness within his own soul to refresh and ennoble his fellows. Real religion leads to increased social service.

Discovery
Frost and fog to start the day.
Spring is coming, no delay.
It may hit 50 later on.
Already all the snow is gone.

Green shoots sprouting everywhere.
They promise flowers beyond compare.
If they are in the proper place,
Their nourishment stays right on pace.

Rapid growth, and then a freeze
Might bring green foliage to its knees.
The freeze leaves scars upon green shoots.
But still there’s energy in their roots.

I pray for plants to be well tended
So they develop as God intended.
I pray our weather does not kill
The plants upon the soil we till.

But more than that, I pray for peace.
From war I pray we be released.
If our souls we elevate,
Then wars we’ll never contemplate.

That won’t be right now, for sure.
But towards that goal we must endure.
Encourage inner health compassion
And then the search for God in action.

Thank You, Father, though progress be
Difficult and hard to see,
I know each day does bring us closer.
We’re on the brink where more discover.

47:3.1 On the mansion worlds the resurrected mortal survivors resume their lives just where they left off when overtaken by death. When you go from Urantia to the first mansion world, you will notice considerable change, but if you had come from a more normal and progressive sphere of time, you would hardly notice the difference except for the fact that you were in possession of a different body; the tabernacle of flesh and blood has been left behind on the world of nativity.

Saving Time
The change in time, the Daylight savings,
Makes it dark for mourning readings.
But now our evenings will be lit.
More light for work, we do not sit.

Does it really make a difference?
Does an hour of light have much significance?
How can just one hour of light
Create much difference in our plights?

All of a sudden, our world is shaken.
We’re up before we do awaken.
Darkness shrouds the morning light.
When evening comes, the lights too bright.

We are just as time goes by
Until the fall when change applies.
And we go through this all again
Reversing what we did begin.

In my opinion stable time
Makes more sense, it’s God’s design.
If this time change’s truly smart,
And I desire it with all my heart!

Thank You Father, the flow of time
Is very steady, by Your design.
Why should we disrupt the flow
Twice a year? I’d like to know.

103:5.6 The attempt to secure equal good for the self and for the greatest number of other selves presents a problem which cannot always be satisfactorily resolved in a time-space frame. Given an eternal life, such antagonisms can be worked out, but in one short human life they are incapable of solution. Jesus referred to such a paradox when he said: “Whosoever shall save his life shall lose it, but whosoever shall lose his life for the sake of the kingdom, shall find it.”

The Good Loser
The skies are gray, but they are dry.
They may get wet when the day goes by.
Tonight a snowy mix predicted.
Will the roads then all get wicked?

Slippery as the roads might be,
We must deal realistically,
with the work that must be done.
Decisions made by everyone.

Some folks have to drive at night.
Delivering goods for our delight.
They keep the lights on for all of us.
To them our night we do entrust.

I’m glad I do not work at night.
But if I did, I’d find delight.
The moon shines with the whitest light.
When it is full, our night is bright.

There’s always something good in life
When even in the toughest strife.
Look for all the hows and whys.
Find the reasons that underlie.

Wisdom comes especially well
To those who lose and those who fell.
Learning how to stay on top
Successful ways we must adapt.

When you lose, you really see
The true course of reality.
It’s apparent to your eyes.
Think, please think, and then apprise.

Thank You, Father, life points to You.
Especially if we try to do
The best in life we can conceive.

118:8.10 As man shakes off the shackles of fear, as he bridges continents and oceans with his machines, generations and centuries with his records, he must substitute for each transcended restraint a new and voluntarily assumed restraint in accordance with the moral dictates of expanding human wisdom. These self-imposed restraints are at once the most powerful and the most tenuous of all the factors of human civilization – concepts of justice and ideals of brotherhood. Man even qualifies himself for the restraining garments of mercy when he dares to love his fellow men, while he achieves the beginnings of spiritual brotherhood when he elects to mete out to them that treatment which he himself would be accorded, even that treatment which he conceives that God would accord them.

Ways & Meanings
Too far south to get much snow.
But with the rain, I’ll still go slow.
A rainy day with green sprouts growing.
I smell the spring as life is flowing.

That’s a good start to this day.
Outside’s not the place to play.
Far too wet with a cold rain.
When it’s in your face, you feel the pain

Going on no matter what,
Adapting to one’s budget cuts.
Finding ways, and finding meanings,
Every day through life we’re gleaning.

Gleaning every day experience.
We all choose what has significance.
Our decisions are reflected
In the way our life’s impacted.

Is this good, or is this bad?
By your actions, are you glad?
What direction do you choose?
Wisdom comes to those who lose.

Don’t be discouraged, rise above.
Your beauty shines because you love.

Father, thank You, for this day.
I know surprise is on it’s way.

And we get wiser as we do.

71:4.17 Idealism can never survive on an evolving planet if the idealists in each generation permit themselves to be exterminated by the baser orders of humanity. And here is the great test of idealism: Can an advanced society maintain that military preparedness which renders it secure from all attack by its war-loving neighbors without yielding to the temptation to employ this military strength in offensive operations against other peoples for purposes of selfish gain or national aggrandizement? National survival demands preparedness, and religious idealism alone can prevent the prostitution of preparedness into aggression. Only love, brotherhood, can prevent the strong from oppressing the weak.

Be Prepared
Overcast, the day begins.
The warmer weather brings us Spring.
Green shoots sprouting everywhere.
But snow will come, they best beware.

Transitions from the colder weather
Mean Summer’s coming but, however,
Before it proceed many storms.
Do they exceed what’s been the norm?

Can 2 degrees since 1880
Cause changes that do seem so weighty?
Faster and faster yes it’s rising.
We see our weather. We’re appraising.

One short lifetime to be for certain?
Is not enough. It needs researching.
It always helps to be prepared.
Life won’t change, it’s never fair!

So where I live, I best prepare
For stronger storms. They’re everywhere!
Mostly though they’re to the South.
Procrastination reflects doubt.

I should not be upstairs at home
When wind and storms around us roam.
Tornadoes, whirl winds of any sort
Might take the roof from my resort.

Thank You, Father, for what is.
The life I lead helps me to give.
And when I’m stuck in outer space
I know Your Love achieves with Grace.

101:4.2 Mankind should understand that we who participate in the revelation of truth are very rigorously limited by the instructions of our superiors. We are not at liberty to anticipate the scientific discoveries of a thousand years. Revelators must act in accordance with the instructions which form a part of the revelation mandate. We see no way of overcoming this difficulty, either now or at any future time. We full well know that, while the historic facts and religious truths of this series of revelatory presentations will stand on the records of the ages to come, within a few short years many of our statements regarding the physical sciences will stand in need of revision in consequence of additional scientific developments and new discoveries. These new developments we even now foresee, but we are forbidden to include such humanly undiscovered facts in the revelatory records. Let it be made clear that revelations are not necessarily inspired. The cosmology of these revelations is not inspired. It is limited by our permission for the co-ordination and sorting of present-dayknowledge. While divine or spiritual insight is a gift, human wisdom must evolve.

Future Days
Today it truly feels like Spring!
Surprise, I know, this day will bring.
The weather outside’s truly wet.
Rain is what we’re going to get.

Plans today? We’ll see what gives.
I’ll find the best way I can live.
I’ll try to be of help to others.
After all we’re sisters/brothers.

It’s a Monday! Time to work.
An early start for my rebirth.
Every day an open mind
Gives new perspectives – Your design!

I anticipate good things.
But bad things happen, though we sing.
Doesn’t mean we have done wrong.
We need to sing a longer song.

Adopt a longer point of view.
Time won’t matter if it’s true.
Our truth, yes, can be time delayed.
But in the end, truth is conveyed!

Patience with the course of time.
Leads us where, by Your design,
We are able to achieve
Exactly what we can believe!

Thank You, Father, things go well.
You have a plan and You indwell
Every soul that You create.
We’re linked forever in our fate.

97:7.5 This Isaiah conducted a far-flung propaganda of the gospel of the enlarging concept of a supreme Yahweh. He vied with Moses in the eloquence with which he portrayed the Lord God of Israel as the Universal Creator. He was poetic in his portrayal of the infinite attributes of the Universal Father. No more beautiful pronouncements about the heavenly Father have ever been made. Like the Psalms, the writings of Isaiah are among the most sublime and true presentations of the spiritual concept of God ever to greet the ears of mortal man prior to the arrival of Michael on Urantia. Listen to his portrayal of Deity: “I am the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity.” “I am the first and the last, and beside me there is no other God.” “And the Lord’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear.” And it was a new doctrine in Jewry when this benign but commanding prophet persisted in the preachment of divine constancy, God’s faithfulness. He declared that “God would not forget, would not forsake.”

Weather Change
Spring continues unabated.
The upper 40s are dictated.
A string of them – the weather warms.
Are we beset with stronger storms?

Not today, for beauty reigns.
We won’t get snow, if moisture rain.
Too warm to snow, but not to storm.
Tomorrow’s weather’s not yet formed.

The warming weather has more power.
The rains that come to every flower
Can be gentle, slowly fall,
Or be brutal like a wall.

Whatever come’s been seen before.
But don’t we seem to be getting more?
Snow in southern Cal, gee whiz!
To be snowed in there’s a brand new risk.

Potential risk’s for everyone.
The need for change can make us glum.
No need to see the world that way.
Look to see how love’s displayed.

Always silver linings where
You least expect. Most people care!
Challenge those around you to
Do the best in what they do.

Thank You, Father, there will be
A time when spirituality
Will manifest in all our souls.
To do Your Will, will change our goals.

100:6.4 The self has surrendered to the intriguing drive of an all-encompassing motivation which imposes heightened self-discipline, lessens emotional conflict, and makes mortal life truly worth living. The morbid recognition of human limitations is changed to the natural consciousness of mortal shortcomings, associated with moral determination and spiritual aspiration to attain the highest universe and superuniverse goals. And this intense striving for the attainment of supermortal ideals is always characterized by increasing patience, forbearance, fortitude, and tolerance.

Experience Is The Goal
They say the snow is on the way.
But a quiet spell will rule today.
The calm before the coming storm.
Tomorrow, Winter’ll be the norm.

To know what’s coming— a recent change.
The way the world lives— progress came.
The weather always is the news—
To plan ahead if you so choose.

You smell it in the morning air.
It lifts your spirit, and takes you where
You know that Spring is on its way.
You know it though the skies are gray.

The morning gases fill our lungs.
We see more of the world we’re from.

Does where we’re going take us there?

Early planning is the best

55:3.21&22 The great handicap confronting Urantia in the matter of attaining the high planetary destiny of light and life is embraced in the problems of disease, degeneracy, war, multicolored races, and multilingualism.
No evolutionary world can hope to progress beyond the first stage of settledness in light until it has achieved one language, one religion, and one philosophy. Being of one race greatly facilitates such achievement, but the many peoples of Urantia do not preclude the attainment of higher stages.

Direction
The snow has crusted with the cold.
Frozen slush puts us on hold.
Very slick, cars must go slow
Or they will slide to the unknown.

Sliding gives us no control
Except with circles in the snow.
Some go out, and cut these corners.
Open fields home this disorder.

As long as we don’t have a care
About where we go, we’re not aware.
We must show an interest in
The world around us and within.

To throw all caution to the wind—
Be not a fool! Please, look within!
Do only things to make this place
A better spot for the human race.

If we would all agree on that,
This world improves as we do act.
Together we can redirect.
When united we effect!

We effect when choice is made.
With every choice, our plans are laid.

Avoid all entanglements with the economic structure and the political commitments of your day. More especially devote yourself to living the ideal religious life on Urantia.

Commitment
Very cold the morning air.
Much to do though, if we care.
Care about some other souls.
Everybody braves the cold.

Warm the car, make sure it starts.
Do a check of all its parts.
Plan your trip to help a friend.
Then every Tuesday do again.

Anticipate the day ahead.
Try to see where you are led.
Do the best job you can do.
Accept whate’er comes back to you.

Learn how you can have effect.
Polish up your self-respect
Do the work – it must be done.
You’re finding out how God has fun!

Every moment of every day
God’s love pours through to show the way.
If you receive this Holy call
You can’t help but be enthralled!

It’s amazing what God does.
My faith in His Good has no pause.

15:1.3 Urantia is situated in a local universe and a superuniverse not fully organized, and your local universe is in immediate proximity to numerous partially completed physical creations. You belong to one of the relatively recent universes. But you are not, today, plunging on wildly into uncharted space nor swinging out blindly into unknown regions. You are following the orderly and predetermined path of the superuniverse space level. You are now passing through the very same space that your planetary system, or its predecessors, traversed ages ago; and some day in the remote future your system, or its successors, will again traverse the identical space through which you are now so swiftly plunging.

Today
The search for signal still goes on.
Direct TV sings not it’s song.
It can’t work without a signal
It certainly is being fickle.

Oh well, the day will still be great.
We’re going to love our destined fate.
God’s in charge, so do not fear.
He has a plan to take us there.

We must have an open mind
Then it resonates with the Divine.
To look for good when in a mess,
Provides a Spirit with which we’re blessed.

God anticipates your needs.
He’s there when e’er your Spirit bleeds.
He tends your soul and plants some seeds.
His seeds will grow even with some weeds.

To grow to be upon this world
We must follow where we’re hurled.
We’re on track to spin and whirl
And learn from God so many pearls.

That’s the way our lives can be
If we choose to search for Ye.
Try to be as we perceive
Our best and as we do believe.

Thank You Father, for your plan.
It will diffuse throughout this land.
Someday our lives will truly be
