Olden&nbsp;<strong>wars</strong>&nbsp;promoted travel and cultural intercourse; these ends are now better served by modern methods of transport and communication. Olden&nbsp;<strong>wars</strong>&nbsp;strengthened nations, but modern struggles disrupt civilized culture. Ancient warfare resulted in the decimation of inferior peoples; the net result of modern conflict is the selective destruction of the best human stocks. Early&nbsp;<strong>wars</strong>&nbsp;promoted organization and efficiency, but these have now become the aims of modern industry. During past ages war was a social ferment which pushed civilization forward; this result is now better attained by ambition and invention. Ancient warfare supported the concept of a God of battles, but modern man has been told that God is love. War has served many valuable purposes in the past, it has been an indispensable scaffolding in the building of civilization, but it is rapidly becoming culturally bankrupt &ndash; incapable of producing dividends of social gain in any way commensurate with the terrible losses attendant upon its invocation.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span style="font-size: 22px;"><strong>Wars Will End</strong></span></p><p>Today I&rsquo;ll join my voice with others&mdash;</p><p>With my sisters and my brothers.</p><p>From the balcony we&rsquo;ll sing.</p><p>Together truth will truly ring.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>We&rsquo;ll sing the songs that bring us cheer.</p><p>Inside we know that God is near</p><p>We sing out, the people hear.</p><p>Inside, God builds, we are sincere.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>As we follow God inside</p><p>His purpose helps us all decide</p><p>How we truly want to be.</p><p>This world united, we decree!</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Someday, perhaps, not too far off</p><p>This world unites, please do not scoff.</p><p>One God who spreads his love to all</p><p>Will unite us though we brawl.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Wars are common on this planet.</p><p>We blow up buildings made of granite.</p><p>We try to kill all those opposed.</p><p>Our love inside though truly grows.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The acts of wars give us unrest.</p><p>There&rsquo;s something wrong within our breast.</p><p>No longer do we beat our chests.</p><p>Peace amongst us gives us rest.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Thank You, Father, you know best.</p><p>I know this world will pass the test.</p><p>Time it takes, but not forever.</p><p>In the future we&rsquo;re together.</p><p>Paul Anderson</p><p>Urantiapoet.com</p><p style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" height="60" src="http://spiritualfamily.net/images/Bars/Bar-12-Divider3.png" width="903"></p>]]></description>
