The father Isabirye was a local leader and had many wives and so many children. </span></p><p style="margin-bottom: 15px; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-size: 14.4px; background-color: rgb(237, 240, 245);"><span style="font-size: 18px;">The parents parted ways when Scovia was 4 years old and remarried a year later leaving Scovia with the grand parent who is very poor and sickly. Scovia is a child that has been raised by the community eating and drinking from the neighboring families. </span></p><p style="margin-bottom: 15px; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-size: 14.4px; background-color: rgb(237, 240, 245);"><span style="font-size: 18px;">With this she also ended up with a group of other kids who always did petty tasks for a coin. They would spend the day selling mangoes and looking for scrap (old metal pieces) for sale. Her story was about to change when she came selling fruits to us on our visit to the community. We were curious to know why she was not in school and yet it was school time. She was all in tears as she narrated her story and told us how much she loved to go to school like the others. We followed her home to a grass thatched house where met her grandmother to understand better the story. </span></p><p style="margin-bottom: 15px; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-size: 14.4px; background-color: rgb(237, 240, 245);"><span style="font-size: 18px;">Pato Banton foundation Africa is now responsible for Scovia&#39;s life sending her to school and offering her shelter as well as some assistance to the grandmother.<br />
