Many of them cannot read but my team and with the help of Andrew and Maureen, we have always read for them and explained to them.

Achievements

Together, we have been able to rent a room for our workshop and a place of training, with the financial support from Sister Marin.

We were able to secure sewing machines for training and making some money, with financial support from Sister Monica through Andrew.

We were able to increase the number of women involved and interested in the UB outreach mission.

We have trained many girl children and women hands on skills, enabling them learn how to earn a living, changing their status from over depending on men for survival.

We have been able to reduce domestic violence and child abuse among reader members through the guidance and counseling offered to the members.

We have promoted farming among members and hard work.

We have promoted love and care for one another; this has been done through the “Love Fridays”

Every first Friday in a month, there is giving, members give gifts to one another expressing love.

We have succeeded in creating more women headed readers groups.

We have formed our women choir so there is practice of singing whenever we meet.

We have practiced story telling the life and teachings of Jesus to young ones.

Our women men corps has rooted itself so much in the following programs.

Nature conservation program through:

Green world environment Africa intended to plant trees, flowers and food crops ensuring natural living.

Feed the hungry community program through:

Jesus’ 500 Farm Kaliro, here we aim at growing crops and upon harvest, we start sharing with the communities and a like found available.

Give the orphans /community program:

This is done at free will by the members, where by those who have go to communities and give to the needy the little they offer to give.

Challenges

We have found challenges doing the ministerial work as seen below:

Less number of sewing machines which is not enough for the number that yearn to be trained.

Lack of materials to use for training members.

There has been a challenge of lack of a smart phone by women leaders, this has made us to stay and rely on Andrew’s phone for any research needed. I would wish personally to make my own consultations and interaction with Sister Monica, Joy and others for better leadership skills and administration. But am seriously limited by lack of a smart phone.

Challenge of transport and communication as most of our leaders do not have phones.

I have found it difficult to access our women Corps groups in the villages.

Recommendations

We request the IFC to grant us with more sewing machines to support learning uplift women ministers.

We also suggest the purchase of smart phones for the women leaders under women corpse as a way of empowering the women in the mission.

We also suggest that the IFC should improvise a way of supporting us with some rolls of materials for training and source of income for women corps.

We shall be very grateful for your positive consideration.

Compiled by:

namudira

DORCUS NAMUDIRA

VICE CHAIRPERSON ONE FAMILY WOMEN CORPS.
