Love is.......... (topic #5)

Love Is . . . .

“ I love, I am in love, I’m falling in love”. These are common expressions describing the warmth that flows over us when we are touched by the presences of love. Our need for it is enormous and essential, both for physical and mental health, whether we are loving our surroundings, giving love to another, receiving, or loving self.  The experience invades our mind beyond any self control and those moments are a delight.

When love flows between two people, the energy that we call love, builds upon itself, taking us into unfamiliar territory. Sometimes that love for another is one sided and yet it is gratifying, but singular. Having love of self allows us to approach everyday challenges with grace, knowing that nothing external can match the feeling of love. 

We use the word love lightly, to describe our favourite likes, to say good bye to family members and even intimately when it is absent in the moment. However love is the energy that supports all life and without it no-thing exists.

So I wonder what you think Love is:

• Is it always present, as is air 
• Does it come from the universe or even deeper
• What in us, turns on the value that allows love to flow
• When feeling love toward another, are we loving the qualities in them or loving the reflection of our own beauty 
• Does love of self connect us with the love in all living things?

Rewards of Sensuality: (topic #4)

Humanity shares the need for shelter, food, procreation and emotional exchange. These needs become individualized through our personal journey, that when shared, offers opportunities for exploration into our differences. 

Sensuality is an exchange of emotion through many forms; intertwined fingers, a hug, prolonged eye contact, a sincere smile, being truly heard, a dance, a massage, or feeling the warmth of another's body. 

In all cases the experience involves energy flowing between two individuals as their unique frequencies intertwine exciting the other. As much as we need emotional exchange through sensuality, society has constructed obstacles, so I ask?

• - is sensuality an expression of love
• - can sensuality promote connectedness? 
• - can public display of sensuality promote acceptance
• - does acknowledging one's fear of touch free us emotionally
• - how to share your need for contact with other human?

A long lasting friendship can provide greater inner satisfaction than any amount of possessions. Yet a heart felt connection can suddenly lose it's spark and turn cold for no apparent reason. One may ask themselves "‘what is wrong with my friend, why am I being avoided", while the other asks themselves, "what did I do, why don’t they tell me what is wrong"?

The ease of communication that once was, can slowly diminish being replaced by uncertainty and distrust. Efforts to reconnect can be awkward causing efforts to be abandoned without either party engaging in an in-depth sharing from the heart. Telling a loved friend what annoys you is more difficult than hearing it from them. Identifying why you feel less connected with a friend is also difficult to identify.

Friendships are built upon a shared energy dance and as one person's outlook on life changes, so does the dance. 
So I ask:

• - is the lack of emotional honesty part of our culture
• - need we be so strong as to silently tolerate minor dislikes
• - could you handle criticism if given in love
• - is emotional honesty the key to long lasting friendship
• - why is it difficult to identify and address uncertainties about a close friend?
