He is Father of us all. We - all, are His creatures, His children. Yes, some children are wayward, like the prodigal son but they are His children, nonetheless. And He loves us all and desires we come to KNOW HIM and walk in His will. This is a very important part of the gospel message that Jesus Christ taught.
