"I have called upon you to be born again, to be born of the spirit." Jesus, The Urantia Book (155:6.3).

In 148:4.8, Jesus said, "The new birth - the baptism of the spirit - is essential to deliverance from evil and necessary for entrance into the kingdom of heaven."

The world needs to see Jesus living again on earth in the experience of spirit-born mortals who effectively reveal the Master to all men. Those who have received and recognized the indwelling of God have been born of the spirit. "You are the temple of God, and the spirit of God dwells in you."

Key Aspects of Being Born of the Spirit (Urantia Book):

Definition: It is the spiritual rebirth where a mortal becomes a Spirit-led son or daughter of God, moving from relying on traditional authority to direct personal experience.

The Indwelling Spirit: It is characterized by the conscious recognition of the Thought Adjuster—a fragment of God that lives within the human mind.

The New Life: Those born of the spirit are delivered from the "self-conscious bondage of a life of self-denial" and enter a "joyous kingdom," naturally exhibiting fruits of the spirit like love, joy, and peace.

Result: It represents the baptism of the spirit - where the soul is baptized by the spirit in the spiritual water of God. You receive the ability to navigate life by spiritual insight rather than just by material impulses.

Purpose: The goal is to reveal the divine character to others and live in service to God and humanity.

There is a wide debate online and below more of a tenderness in the phrase “knowing God, and yourself as a son of God.” It sounds less like a theological proclamation delivered from a marble lectern and more like a warm invitation whispered across a kitchen table_a beckoning to return home. In a world filled with doctrine, distraction, and duty, the Urantia Book’s reminder that the greatest good news is the invitation to relationship invites us to reframe everything: belief becomes belonging, truth becomes touchable, and destiny becomes personal.

What does “knowing God” really mean?
To many, “knowing God” can feel abstract look at this as an intellectual exercise of agreeing to propositions about a remote Creator. The Urantia perspective reshapes that into an experiential reality. Knowing God is an inner recognition produced by the indwelling presence of a divine fragment within each person. It is less about accumulating theological facts and more about the quiet, unmistakable sense that you are seen, known, and accompanied.

This knowing is progressive and intimate. It grows in ordinary moments: in a decision made kindly when it’s easier not to be; in an unanticipated peace during a storm; in the small habit of morning thought and prayer. Over time these moments form a tapestry of presence, a steady familiarity with a loving reality you learn to trust. Knowing God, then, is the daily habit of discovering that your life is not solitary but sustained.

Recognizing yourself as a child of God
If knowing God is the first half of the good news, recognizing yourself as a son or daughter of God is its echo. It answers the question: what does that divine presence imply for me? To be a child of God is to be given dignity, worth, and potential. It is an identity that precedes achievement ......your value is not measured by résumé, reputation, or productivity, but by the simple fact that you are beloved.

This recognition is both comforting and demanding. Comforting because it grounds your worth in relationship rather than performance; demanding because true sonship invites growth. Children inherit traits from their parents; spiritual children are called to grow into the likeness of their Father through love, service, humility, and truth. The divine invitation is not to complacency but to discipleship: to live in ways that reflect what is highest in the universe.

The Thought Adjuster’s presence is a patient teacher, working through life’s circumstances to refine character, not to shame the learner for not being already perfect.

Churches Today

Many churches today operate more like a religious system than the simple faith Jesus taught. They emphasize buildings, titles, hierarchy, rituals, and outward appearances, while placing spiritual leaders above others. Some teachings rely on fear, telling people they will be cursed or punished if they do not follow certain rules or give money. There is often commercialization of faith through selling anointing items, charging for prayers, and promising miracles in exchange for offerings. In such settings, believers may feel they must go through a pastor or prophet to reach God, and churches sometimes compete with each other for members, numbers, and influence. This shifts attention from inner spiritual growth to external practices and institutional control.

The religion of Jesus, however, focused on a personal, living relationship with God based on love, faith, and sincere service to others. Jesus taught that God lives within the human heart, that all people are brothers and sisters, and that no one needs a middleman to communicate with the Father. He emphasized inner transformation rather than rituals, love instead of fear, and freely giving rather than commercialization. The religion of Jesus is not about belonging to an organization but about living a life of kindness, humility, forgiveness, and trust in God. It invites individuals to experience God personally and to express that experience through loving service, rather than through rules, titles, or outward religious performance.

In our local communities, many businesses rely on each other to thrive. For instance, local farmers markets depend on partnerships with nearby suppliers, artisans, and service providers. In a broader context, remember the global supply chain that delivers products and services. As we saw during the pandemic(Covid 19), disruptions in one area affected countless others. The Universe Mother Spirit How does she draw close to you

Most important to understand about the ministry of the Universe Mother Spirit is her seven adjutant mind-spirits.

The seven adjutant mind-spirits (created by the Universe Mother Spirit) do not all begin functioning in the human mind at the exact same moment. Their ministry unfolds progressively as the mind evolves from animal to human levels.

Progressive Functioning of the Adjutants

The first five adjutants (intuition, understanding, courage, knowledge, and counsel) function in animal minds and continue into early human-type minds. They activate and regulate the adaptive, teachable (non-mechanical) levels of mind—the ability to learn from experience. These lower adjutants are active long before full human will emerges and are essential to the evolutionary platform that supports higher mind.
The sixth and seventh adjutants (worship and wisdom) register only qualitatively (not quantitatively) in lower animal minds. They begin to function fully and distinctly only when the evolving creature mind develops the reception capacity for them.

Key Moment: When Mortal Man First Experiences Full Ministry

The revelation states clearly:

“Mortal man first experiences the ministry of the Spirit in conjunction with mind when the purely animal mind of evolutionary creatures develops reception capacity for the adjutants of worship and of wisdom. This ministry of the sixth and seventh adjutants indicates mind evolution crossing the threshold of spiritual ministry. And immediately are such minds of worship- and wisdom-function included in the spiritual circuits of the Divine Minister [the Universe Mother Spirit].” (Paper 34:5.3)

At this point:

The mind transitions from purely animal to human (will creature) status or what they refer to as human will dignity. The capacity to understand their Creator.
All seven adjutants become fully operative and coordinated in the human intellect.
The mind is instantly encircuited in the spirit cycles of the Universe Mother Spirit (becoming “superminded”).
This opens the door for the first functioning of the Spirit of Truth and immediately the Thought Adjuster takes up residence in the human temple (body). This occurs on average when a child is 5 years and 8 months old or after 2134 days of life on Urantia

Additional Context from the Papers

The adjutants are present on primitive worlds from the early stages of organic evolution and condition its purposeful direction (Paper 36:5.1). However, their full, unified function in a truly human mind occurs only with the appearance of worship (the religious impulse that distinguishes humans) and wisdom (the coordinator that unifies all prior adjutants).
On Urantia specifically, this threshold was crossed approximately one million years ago with the emergence of the first human ancestors (the twins who could respond to worship and wisdom).
Creature mind before the ability to recognize divinity and worship Deity is the exclusive domain of the adjutants; once spiritual response appears, the mind becomes superminded under the Mother Spirit’s circuits (Paper 36:5.15).

In summary, the seven adjutant mind-spirits begin functioning variably—the lower five much earlier in animal evolution—but they achieve full, unified operation in the human mind precisely when the mind develops receptivity to the adjutants of worship and wisdom. This marks the birth of true human (moral/spiritual) consciousness and the point at which the Universe Mother Spirit’s ministry shifts from preparatory mind endowment to active spiritual encircuital involvement.

And last but not least she also sends her Angels to guide and watch over us throughout our entire time on Urantia. When we desire to pray or worship many times it is our Guardian Angels who urged or nudged us to do so.

Beloved women of Urantia (Earth),In the Fifth Epochal Revelation—the Urantia Book, with its Foreword and 196 Papers—the feminine divine presence who most directly nurtures your spiritual growth is the Local Universe Mother Spirit (also called the Creative Spirit, Divine Minister, or Universe Mother Spirit). She is the personal, coordinate partner of our Creator Son, Michael of Nebadon (who incarnated as Jesus of Nazareth). Together they embody the father-mother pattern of local-universe government and ministry (Paper 33:3). This is the “Comforter,” the personal gift of the triumphant Son, the spirit that ever draws truth-seekers to him who is the personification of truth. Crucially, the Mother Spirit serves as the living focus and center of this Spirit of Truth. The Son’s bestowal spirit functions independently of his physical location precisely because it is anchored in her person.
