Co-creating Through Prayer II

Urantia Book 110:1.3 - "Although the divine indwellers are chiefly concerned with your spiritual preparation for the next stage of the never-ending existence, they are also deeply interested in your temporal welfare and in your real achievements on earth. They are delighted to contribute to your health, happiness, and true prosperity. They are not indifferent to your success in all matters of planetary advancement which are not inimical to your future life of eternal progress."

Refusing to pray to God for His divine assistance and/or intervention in your material welfare: job, business, finances, marriage, health, etc, may seem altruistic, 'not selfish', 'not personal', 'free of personal interest' or 'selfless'. It may come off as macho, spiritual or grandiose to some but in actuality, it is defeatist. It is burdensome. I may even add that it is selfish. Your Thought Adjuster {God within, the divine fractal} would like to be involved in everything about you and this includes material or temporal matters. Of course, God's main focus is your spirituality. However, bare in mind that everything about a faith-liberated, "born again" child of God is sacred. So, yes, we should talk to our heavenly Father about everything. Nothing wrong with that. And while we are at it, we make efforts to discern His will concerning that particular matter...

In communication with God and the heavenly hosts [prayer], we have a beautiful opportunity or privilege to "co-create" with God. With our thoughts, our hearts, our words (words energized or infused with spiritual power), we visualize, we speak into existence that which constitutes truth, beauty and goodness. It may be a material or physical need or desire. It may be something strictly spiritual. We exercise our "faith", pray and act as well, having at the back of our minds, the divine wisdom, knowledge and understanding related to our prayer. And this is one way in which prayer changes us and pulls us closer to divine perfection...

When i pray, some useful pointers for me are: How does this benefit me - how would it contribute to my being a better man, a more useful or more productive person? What would other people get or benefit from this prayer request of mine? Would it contribute to seeing a better neighborhood, a better world - peaceful, moral, economic, healing, healthy, spiritual, etc?

I have to examine: What are my motives? What are my true intentions? Where is the Father's will in all these? What's in it for the Universe?

~ Brother Karo Kanye Akamune

My brother, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." If indeed you honestly seek to know, without fear or favor, your God will guide you and many hidden things will be revealed to you. In addition to information available online, you should look WITHIN YOU. The spirit of God in you will speak to you about intelligent mortal life in other planets - brothers and sisters in other worlds. If you can handle it, then you may be shown. But if you are not ready, you may as well forget about all these. #OneLove :)
It highlights that true nobility isn't about how much money we have, but about how we treat others. Let's break this down in simpler terms and relate it to our everyday lives.

Understanding the Quote:

1. Seeking Divine Will: When we strive to understand and follow God's will, we are called to act with kindness and fairness. This means recognizing that all people deserve respect and dignity, not just those who are wealthy or powerful.

2. Oppression of Wealth: The quote warns against using wealth to oppress others. Many times, people with money can exploit those who have less. This exploitation might happen in various forms, such as low wages, unsafe working conditions, or unfair treatment.

3. Nobility and Compassion: Jesus emphasizes that a truly noble person will not pursue wealth through the suffering of others. Instead, they will work to create a world where everyone can thrive together.

Real-World Examples:

Corporate Responsibility: Consider large companies that have been criticized for their labor practices. Some pay their workers low wages while making huge profits. When businesses prioritize profit over people, they contradict the teaching of nobility in the quote. Companies like Patagonia, however, show that businesses can be successful while treating their employees and the environment ethically.

Philanthropy vs. Exploitation: There are many wealthy individuals who engage in philanthropy, donating to causes that help others. For example, Bill Gates has dedicated much of his wealth to global health initiatives. This aligns with the ideals in the quote, as he uses his resources to uplift and support rather than oppress.

Local Communities: Think about your own community. Are there businesses locally that treat their employees fairly? Supporting them can mean choosing to spend our money in ways that encourage ethical practices, reinforcing the idea of a noble society where everyone cares for each other.

Conclusion:

Jesus' words challenge us to reflect on how we use our resources and interact with others. When we prioritize kindness, fair treatment, and community support over wealth accumulation, we embody the true spirit of nobility. In today's world, where inequalities often seem insurmountable, we can start small. Whether it’s choosing to buy from ethical companies, supporting local charities, or advocating for fair labor practices, each action contributes to a more compassionate and equitable world. By embracing these values, we can live out the message of the Urantia Book and create a better society for all.

Ayo.

Hello all! Namaste!
Please, for those of us interested in "proactive outreach activities" (a.k.a. evangelism), I find this short piece very useful. You can incorporate it in your dialogue both online and offline:

The Urantia Book contains the most spiritually compelling story of Jesus anywhere in print. It provides a detailed narrative of Jesus' entire life including the socalled "missing years," his discourses, parables, significant life events, crucifixion and resurrection. This life and teachings of Jesus is supplemented by an extensive spiritual cosmology provided in the first three sections of The Urantia Book."
Source: The Urantia Book Fellowship http://www.urantiabook.org/newbook/index-biography-of-jesus.html
Now, am excited!! Whoo-ooh! :)

+++

"The next evening, having gathered together the twelve apostles, the apostles of John, and the newly commissioned women's group, Jesus said: "You see for yourselves that the harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Let us all, therefore, pray the Lord of the harvest that he send forth still more laborers into his fields."" - Urantia Book Paper 150:4.1

"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force." - Jesus, Matthew 11:12

Ayo.

There's this, "doubt filter" that we have as humans. However, one has to be careful

not to set the threshold too high! LOL! In his over 3 years of face-to-face

association with Jesus, the Apostle Thomas made good use of his doubt filter and

the Master [Jesus] appreciated that about him. A lot of people do not know this...

"Thomas the doubter" should be taken in good stride.

“Thomas was the eighth apostle, and he was chosen by Philip. In later times he

has become known as “doubting Thomas,” but his fellow apostles hardly looked

upon him as a chronic doubter. True, his was a logical, skeptical type of mind, but

he had a form of courageous loyalty which forbade those who knew him intimately

to regard him as a trifling skeptic.” - Urantia Book 139:8.1

“Jesus enjoyed Thomas very much and had many long, personal talks with him.

His presence among the apostles was a great comfort to all honest doubters and

encouraged many troubled minds to come into the kingdom, even if they could not

wholly understand everything about the spiritual and philosophic phases of the

teachings of Jesus. Thomas’s membership in the twelve was a standing declaration

that Jesus loved even honest doubters.” - Urantia Book 139:8

The doubt filter has its place. It helps us to apply caution and patience. You do not

have to be in a hurry to accepting anything or rejecting anything. You take your

time... Do your homework. Ask questions. Honestly seek for answers...

Doubt is a must. We are confronted with it at different times, in one area of life or

the other. An important question is, "What do we do when faced with doubt?" It is

important to use that "doubt experience" as an opportunity to pray, to meditate,

to investigate, to study, to learn, and to grow! When confronted with doubt, we

shouldn't grow cold feet... We should tackle the challenge head on! And with open

hearts to God’s truth and divine insight, our doubts would be clarified. Doubts will

give way to faith - unshakeable faith. Our “faith” would then grow and evolve and

become actual, factual reality.

And Jesus puts it quite nicely, "There is but one struggle for those who enter the

kingdom, and that is to fight the good fight of faith. The believer has only one

battle, and that is against doubt - unbelief."

~ Brother Karo Kanye Akamune

What we need is a clear understanding of God as "Father". He is Father of us all. We - all, are His creatures, His children. Yes, some children are wayward, like the prodigal son but they are His children, nonetheless. And He loves us all and desires we come to KNOW HIM and walk in His will.
