Embracing the Journey: A Call to Resilience and Spiritual Growth

Life is a tapestry woven with threads of triumph and trials. Each of us faces moments of failure that can feel overwhelming, yet these very moments hold the potential for profound transformation. The Urantia Book beautifully encapsulates this sentiment with a thought-provoking question: “If you fail, will you rise indomitably to try anew?”

Failure is not the end; it is an invitation to learn, to grow, and to rise again. Each setback teaches us resilience and deepens our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. It reminds us that our true strength lies not in our ability to avoid failure but in our courage to confront it and try once more.

Equally important is the call to maintain a “well-balanced poise” in our successes. In a society that often equates achievement with worth, it is vital to remember that our value transcends our accomplishments. Success should not lead us to complacency but rather inspire gratitude, humility, and a commitment to continuous growth.

The journey to spiritual freedom is a long one, filled with challenges that test our resolve. As we navigate this path, let us strive to break free from the “fetters of material inertia” that can weigh us down. True freedom is found in the spirit, in the connections we forge with ourselves and others, and in the love we cultivate.

So, whether you find yourself at a crossroads of failure or basking in the light of success, remember: each moment is an opportunity to rise, to reflect, and to embrace the journey ahead. Let us move forward with indomitable spirits, ready to learn, grow, and shine.

Purpose of the foundation 

To empower and uplift vulnerable communities, including the poor, orphans, widows and people with disabilities 

POTENTIAL PROGRAMS 

1. Food Assistance Programs: Distributing food packages to families facing hunger, ensuring nutritional support for vulnerable groups like orphans and widows.
2. Educational Support: Providing scholarships and school supplies to orphans and children from low-income families to enhance access to education and break the cycle of poverty.
3. Community Development: Organizing kindness-driven community events, such as workshops or volunteer activities, to foster unity and mutual support within Ugandan communities.
4. Support for People with Disabilities: Offering resources, accessibility aids, or vocational training to empower individuals with disabilities and promote inclusion.

Lately I’ve been thinking about where our community exists. We don’t have a single church or a center to call home base, nor do we have a network of readers homes that we can visit wherever we might be in town.

This got me thinking about a few issues that I would like to tackle.

First being the fact that we do not have a church to gather in or visit. I know that the UB does not call for us forming a church to praise and pray but it sure would be amazing to have a center or meeting place besides our living rooms that we could invite others to and have sermons by fellow readers, as well as a home base for the communities Urantia book readers and guests that we might invite. Though I very much respect the one on one interaction of an at home study group there is a definite missing. For me it is other ways to express my passion for what I learn when studying the UB. Look at the success of the large churches. They have a watered down version of Jesus’ truth and with a little light show and some music they rock the house and attract millions of followers!

Second is a network of readers who are willing to host fellow traveling readers. How much more enticing would it be to a young evangelist if he knew he had a home to stay in for a night or two in most cities? A network of loving families to support him/her while traveling for the gospel of the good news. Outreach is going to take a million and one shapes but the support for the disciples must be solid. This website will be announcing a program that you can participate in to help this much needed network start to take shape. Stay toned for more and IC’11!

There is another issue I would like to bring light to. Last week I was talking with a long time Urantia Book reader about the culture and attitude of the movement. We discussed how when many of the now older readers found the book they where immediately driven to serve. Many traveled to Chicago in search of a loving dynamic community to join and serve in. But what they found was a group of kind but inactive UB readers who looked down on these inspired souls and their desire to share this books greatness with the world. Most where told that the revelation needed to be spread through slow “one on one” introductions. This attitude still persists even now! And look where the Urantia Book sits on the world stage. It doesn’t.

Meredith Sprunger saw this happening in his community and tried to intervene. And I quote:

“ Many people who long to serve and help spread the good news of the fifth epochal revelation are confused by conflicting advice given by leaders in the URANTIA movement. Some are even afraid of violating some “hidden” or “implied” directive of the revelators of The URANTIA Book. It is time that these ambiguities be laid to rest.” follow the link for more.

Jesus tells us on p. 1729.6

“The religion of the spirit means effort, struggle, conflict, faith, determination, love, loyalty, and progress. The religion of the mind–the theology of authority–requires little or none of these exertions from its formal believers. Tradition is a safe refuge and an easy path for those fearful and halfhearted souls who instinctively shun the spirit struggles and mental uncertainties associated with those faith voyages of daring adventure out upon the high seas of unexplored truth in search for the farther shores of spiritual realities as they may be discovered by the progressive human mind and experienced by the evolving human soul.”

THIS WAS IN 1983 for crying out loud! But let me be clear the time is here my friends. The beauty and truth in the UB can not be held down anymore by those who are afraid in their own hearts to live its teachings. This generation will hold itself and those who negate the outreach movement accountable.

It says in the UB loud and clear.

195:10.5 ” In winning souls for the Master, it is not the first mile of compulsion, duty, or convention that will transform man and his world, but rather the second mile of free service and liberty-loving devotion that betokens the Jesusonian reaching forth to grasp his brother in love and sweep him on under spiritual guidance toward the higher and divine goal of mortal existence.”

Is slow growth going the second mile? I would say its surly is not. The second mile is living a dynamic spiritual life. Being upfront and proud of your relationship with God and all that it brings to your experience of existence.

This is not about making anyone or any group of people wrong let us make that clear. This conversation is about actually LIVING THE TEACHINGS OF THE URANITA BOOK! We must forgive ourselves for falling into the patterns that are natural to the nature of being human.

To let religion take over your life is to exercise faith on a level we rarely see in our culture. And when we do see such a dynamic individual we have no idea how that person achieved it. So what our goal is as young readers is to form a community of purpose driven evangelist who are always in training on ways to live the teachings of the Urantia Book. “The religion of the mind–the theology of authority–requires little or none of these exertions from its formal believers.” and not only that its not very inspiring.

This generation is dedicated to bring a world full of lost

and hungry souls to the gates of heaven.

The Urantia Book presents a unique and profound view of Jesus’ attitude toward education. Far from being indifferent to learning, Jesus is portrayed as a strong believer in the value of study, training, and lifelong growth. His understanding of education went well beyond the accumulation of facts; for him, true education was a pathway to intellectual maturity, moral integrity, and spiritual enlightenment.

The Value of Study and Learning
From an early age, Jesus showed a remarkable dedication to study. The Urantia Book describes him as spending countless evenings in the synagogue library, reading the Scriptures and carefully organizing knowledge for later use.

His approach was systematic he accumulated information in childhood, classified it during youth, and then drew on it with wisdom in his adult teaching. He also encouraged his family members and apostles to set aside time for study, knowing that serious learning was essential preparation for effective living and ministry.

Education as Character Growth
For Jesus, education was not merely intellectual. It was about the transformation of personality and the growth of character. He emphasized fairness, justice, and service in the upbringing of his siblings, preferring positive exhortation over negative prohibition. His belief was that knowledge must lead to wisdom, and wisdom must inspire higher living. In this sense, education was both moral training and spiritual preparation.

Practical Training and Experience
Jesus’ educational philosophy was highly practical. When training his apostles, he used a hands-on method: sending them out two by two to preach, then reviewing their experiences with them. This apprenticeship-style learning allowed them to grow through experience, not just through listening. He demonstrated that education must be lived, not merely studied.

Selective and Spiritual Learning
The Urantia Book also highlights Jesus’ emphasis on choosing the best spiritual nourishment from the Scriptures. He guided his followers to focus on what was eternally true and divinely beautiful rather than getting lost in rigid debates or ritualistic interpretations. For him, the highest form of education was the feeding of the soul with uplifting truth.

Respect for Individual Growth
Perhaps most importantly, Jesus respected the freedom of the learner. He never forced belief or imposed truth through fear. Instead, he used parables, questions, and real-life examples to draw people into self-discovery. He believed faith must be chosen freely and education must respect personal dignity. In this way, he created a model of teaching that nurtured individuality while inspiring collective growth.

Conclusion
In The Urantia Book, Jesus stands out as a great advocate of education. But his idea of education was far richer than formal schooling. For him, it was a lifelong journey of the mind, heart, and spirit—a process of knowing God, embracing truth, and serving others. His teachings remind us that true education is not just about what we know, but about who we become.

As a result, he gives us the free gift of salvation and eternal life. This eternal life is the God-kind of life that empowers us and enables us to literally live forever. In order to fulfill your role in his eternal divine plan and purpose, you have to live forever. So, he gifts you his eternal life. Those who refuse to align with his will and way, ultimately cease to exist. He will not or cannot force them to work with him forever. So, goodbye. They are gone.  Yes, our salvation delivers us from sinning or living in sin. Nevertheless, even if Lucifer had never rebelled and even if we humans do not do very terrible things, we will still be in need of salvation and eternal life. To receive salvation is to be crowned a bonafide spiritual son of God. To receive eternal life or to have eternal life fully functional in your life is to be crowned with the ability to live forever, endlessly, ruling and reigning with the everlasting, ever-loving, all-powerful heavenly Father, the First Source and Divine Center.  We mortals are not created or born with eternal life inherent within us. And we were not born having the absolute, eternal perfection of God. Same goes for some celestial beings like Lucifer. If Lucifer and all other unseen beings who rebelled had the absolute, eternal perfection of "the Father in heaven", they would never ever had rebelled or sinned. The ability or tendency to sin would not have been present. Some of God's children or creatures, terrestrial and celestial alike... ...some... ...were intentionally not created with the absolute, spotless, infallible perfection of God. They were created with varying degrees of perfection and then commanded to EXPERIENCE LIFE and grow or evolve to become perfect as the heavenly Father is perfect. And there are amazing reasons for this. 

Demons are not gods. Brujería is not all-powerful. Obeah is not sovereign. Juju is not absolute. Witches are not eternal. Curses are not unbreakable. And fear? Fear is a parasite—it only lives if you feed it. Yes, spiritual darkness exists. But listen closely: it has already been defeated. What remains is not power—it is a program. A lie. A lingering echo. And that echo finds its resonance in your mind. > The battlefield is not the forest. Not the shrine. Not the crossroads. The battlefield is your thoughts. You say you believe in God, but when someone sweeps dust across your doorstep, you go mute with terror. You sing praises on Sunday and run to the babalawo on Tuesday. You wear crosses on your neck, but keep charms under your mattress. You name Jesus with your mouth, but crown your fears with your heart. --- Who gave these things power? You did. You empowered shadows because you forgot the Source of Light. You gave dominion to fiction because you disconnected from Truth. And just like Esau, you traded your divine inheritance—not for bread—but for folklore and fear. Now let me teach you with a story you think you know.

--- The Prodigal Son Was Never Cursed—He Was Just Confused. This parable is not about disobedience. It’s about identity amnesia. The son asked for his inheritance—his divine portion. But then he left the presence of the father. Not just physically. Psychologically. Spiritually. Existentially. > “I will go to a far country,” he said. That country wasn't just on a map—it was a state of mind. He began walking away from alignment. Away from the sacred center. He didn’t fall because he sinned—he fell because he thought himself separate. He wanted freedom—but without wisdom. He wanted pleasure—but without peace. And what happened? His thoughts created his downfall. He became what he believed. His descent was not instant—it was gradual. > From wealth to waste. From favor to famine. From royalty to rags. From sonship to swine. But here’s the deeper truth: he was always a son. Even in the pigsty. Even in the filth. Even when he felt cursed. Even when he looked defeated. The problem wasn’t his reality—it was his recognition. He still had his birthright. He still had his name. But he forgot it. Until one day, he had a thought—a single, holy, divine thought: > “I will arise and go to my father.” Not a deliverance service. Not a bottle of oil. Not an overnight vigil. Just a thought. And that thought broke the curse. He rose. He walked. He returned. And before he even made it halfway home, his father was already running toward him—robe in hand, ring ready, feast prepared.

--- Now Let Me Speak To You. You—who tremble at dreams of snakes. You—who feel doomed by a word spoken over you in anger. You—who still believe a witch doctor in your village holds your future in his hands. You are in the pigsty of fear. And it’s time to come home. You cannot be cursed unless you believe it. You cannot be defeated unless you surrender. You cannot be bound unless you forget who unbound you. Let me remind you: > You have a Thought Adjuster—God's own spirit fused into your mind. You have ministering spirits walking beside you. You have the Holy Spirit guiding you. You have the Spirit of Truth illuminating you. You have Christ Michael, your universe Father, loving you. You have the Ancients of Days overseeing your growth. You have heaven’s full support, all systems watching and working for your soul’s expansion. And you are afraid of someone burning incense at a crossroad? Wake up. Do not let a chicken feather or charm on your doorstep undo the divine covenant signed in your soul. Do not let folklore be your theology. Do not let fear masquerade as wisdom.

--- What Does This Region Need? Not more screaming preachers. Not more oil-slinging sessions. Not more fearful superstition masked as spirituality. We need a new generation of spiritual warriors—not noisy, but knowing. Not reactive, but revelatory. Not trembling, but transformed. > "Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world." "If God be for you, who can be against you?" "The kingdom of God is within you." So rise, son of Haiti. Rise, daughter of Nigeria. Rise, child of São Paulo, Port of Spain, Accra, Cape Town, and Cartagena. Rise and walk out of the pigsty of your mind. Remember who you are. Walk like it. Think like it. Live like it. Love like it. Let demons tremble—not because of your volume, but because of your vibration. Because you know. And now you live like you know. --- The war is over. The chains are broken. The Son is returning. And the feast is being prepared. Let the lies fall. Let the mind be renewed. Let the fire rise. Let the nations awaken.

So, right here in the Urantia Book, we see that: 
Death, physical death, is the natural dissolution of the material body. 
and 
Death is a simple step that we take to transition from this earthly realm to the celestial realms. 

Death is a technique that releases the soul and allows the soul and spirit to leave this earth and go to heaven. This is simply the function of death - death of the physical body. Death has no power to make you a perfected spirit. To become a perfected spirit, or for your soul to become perfect as your spirit Thought Adjuster is perfect, you have to grow intellectually and spiritually. 
 

Three Kinds of Death 
There are three different kinds of death: 
UB Paper 112:3, "The Phenomenon of Death" 

112:3.1 
Urantians generally recognize only one kind of death, the physical cessation of life energies; but concerning personality survival there are really three kinds:

112:3.2 
1. Spiritual (soul) death. If and when mortal man has finally rejected survival, when he has been pronounced spiritually insolvent, morontially bankrupt, in the conjoint opinion of the Adjuster and the surviving seraphim, when such co-ordinate advice has been recorded on Uversa, and after the Censors and their reflective associates have verified these findings, thereupon do the rulers of Orvonton order the immediate release of the indwelling Monitor. But this release of the Adjuster in no way affects the duties of the personal or group seraphim concerned with that Adjuster-abandoned individual. This kind of death is final in its significance irrespective of the temporary continuation of the living energies of the physical and mind mechanisms. From the cosmic standpoint the mortal is already dead; the continuing life merely indicates the persistence of the material momentum of cosmic energies. 

112:3.3 
2. Intellectual (mind) death. When the vital circuits of higher adjutant ministry are disrupted through the aberrations of intellect or because of the partial destruction of the mechanism of the brain, and if these conditions pass a certain critical point of irreparability, the indwelling Adjuster is immediately released to depart for Divinington. On the universe records a mortal personality is considered to have met with death whenever the essential mind circuits of human will-action have been destroyed. And again, this is death, irrespective of the continuing function of the living mechanism of the physical body. The body minus the volitional mind is no longer human, but according to the prior choosing of the human will, the soul of such an individual may survive. 

112:3.4 
3. Physical (body and mind) death. When death overtakes a human being, the Adjuster remains in the citadel of the mind until it ceases to function as an intelligent mechanism, about the time that the measurable brain energies cease their rhythmic vital pulsations. Following this dissolution the Adjuster takes leave of the vanishing mind, just as unceremoniously as entry was made years before, and proceeds to Divinington by way of Uversa. 

Now please, let's take a look at, "The wages of sin is death." Please, what does this mean? 

Urantia Book 53:9.8 
"But for ages the seven prison worlds of spiritual darkness in Satania have constituted a solemn warning to all Nebadon, eloquently and effectively proclaiming the great truth “that the way of the transgressor is hard”; “that within every sin is concealed the seed of its own destruction”; that “the wages of sin is death.”"  

“The wages of sin is death”: This is talking about spiritual or soul death NOT physical death (not body and mind death). Physical death is simply the natural dissolution of the material body of flesh and blood. It is used to release the soul and spirit from this earthly realm. Another way to release the soul and spirit from this earthly realm is translation by the spiritual fires of God, "chariots of fire": "the spiritual fires of consuming grandeur and ascending glory." (UB 55:2.5)

 The Journey of Living Virtue:
